Verses for spiritual 'grey' areas:
1) Is it helpful?--1 Cor 6:12 "All things are lawful for me," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be enslaved by anything.
2) Does it hurt others or cause them to fall?-- I Cor 8:13 Therefore, if food makes my brother stumble, I will never eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble.
3) Does it conform me to the world or draw me away from Christ?
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God
4) What would Jesus do?--I John 2:6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked
5) Does it bring me under it's power? -- I Cor 6:12b "All things are lawful for me," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be enslaved by anything
6) Does it glorify God?--I Cor 10:31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God
7) Would I be ashamed before God?--I John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming
8) Does it hinder the Gospel?--I Peter 2:21 For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps
9) Can I offer a prayer of Thanksgiving? --I Thes 5:18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you
