i seem to have a virus or something that is causi\ng ///////////// this and sometime sit wont quit. Its behaving bette rnow - only one hiccup aside form teh example. I have AVG - eran for virus etc....I had a bunc - it said they were all handled - what can I do. I cant even type a letter wi\thout uncontrolbal ebackslashes and once they get going the backspace button wont erase them.....///////////////////////////////////

is your keyboard dirty...... or new?

there may be some crud stuck in the keys causing that



or


sometimes a new keyboard has a conflict with the computer

nope key is fine and its not a new one.....wow a whole sentence without one ////////argh! ///////////

It looks like a stuck key or something.
Open a text document (Start>All Programs>Accesories>Notepad) then back away form the computer and see what happens.
Try getting a friends keyboard and plug that into your computer and see if that helps. Try unplugging the keyboard and see what happens.

Could be just a bad keyboard or perhaps a driver conflict. I'm not good at dealing with viruses or spyware but I did find this forum with someone having a similar problem.

I don't know if that can help you or not. I guess the last resort would be to reformat your computer. I have done that a couple of times when I got infected with a really bad virus.

could be a macro.

either and application based macro, or keyboard macro, if the keyboard supports them.

I recall Gateway's were notorious for that problem in the mid 90's and I think it was CTRL ALT Suspend Macro keys.

What PC/Keyboard do you have?
