I'm terrible with links but if you google Obama and hindu god you will come upon a story that broke yesterday about certain things he carries in his pocket...one of them is a madonna and child and then there is a hindu god;
among other things. I would like opinions on this. I found this on a secular
website and the majority of people think it's much ado about nothing. Most
christians disagree. What say you? I say whenever there is a leader who
does such things yet proclaims to be a christian, it shows what interesting times we live in.

Well, it makes me think of Benny in "The Mummy" when he pulled out a chain with different religious icons trying to ward off the mummy. Maybe Obama pulls out the appropriate religious icon for the group he is speaking too...

Hanuman is the incarnation of Shiva, the Destroyer. Shiva is listed by satanist as one of the infernal names of Satan. Don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself.

From http://www.dnaindia.com/report.asp?newsid=1169876
NEW YORK: It's unusual. But, it's a fact. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic party's presidential nominee, is seeking the blessings of Hindu god Hanuman in his battle for the White House.
The 46-year-old senator from Illinois, who defeated his rival Hillary Clinton in an epic 17-month long electoral battle for Democratic party nomination, carries a "tiny monkey god" apparently representing "Hanuman" with him for good luck.
A recent photo posted on Time's White House Photo of the Day collection shows the first ever Black-American nominee of a major US party for the Presidential elections carries with him a bracelet belonging to an American soldier deployed in Iraq, a gambler's lucky chit, a tiny monkey god and tiny Madonna and child.
It's not surprising that Obama carries those religious items. He is a Christian in name only, not by regeneration of the Spirit of God.

I find this all very interesting and here's why: After this article I read there are comments that people can leave and secular sites that are discussing it...
the majority people do not see anything wrong with this or think it is any big deal. Someone even said something to the effect that the "monkey god" is kind of the equivilant to Jesus. But this to me is important because it shows
that the hour is late....not too many believers with strong convictions or loyalty to Jesus around anymore. Further, if people are being so deceived with this particular issue....it's just paving the way for the Anti-christ. I'm finally understanding just how it is that the whole world follows and marvels after the Beast. I never thought I'd live to witness this kind of apostasy in my lifetime. It's very apparent. It's very upsetting.

Well, again--this should not be locked because it is a valid point; one of the ten commandments is "Thou shalt not have any gods before me." And so
someone who is running for office who claims to be christian but carries a
amulet (or whatever it is) of a hindu god....is, in essence breaking that commandment intentionally. It's one thing if you want to be hindu....go ahead I guess...or buddist....but to claim you are one thing when your actions speak louder than words....hmmmm....this goes back to the Bill Clinton
argument that people had in the 90's when he was known to be a run-around after some time in office went by and people (a lot of people I might add) were saying that as long as the country was doing okay and chugging along, what he did with his personal life didn't matter. But if you are a christian you probably believe that when you get married you take an oath in the presence of God to stay faithful to your spouse til death do you part...and so anyone who was more than willing to go against the one person you should never go against (namely, your spouse) then could they be trusted with other things if they go against the person closest to them? I thought it raised an interesting question of character and trustworthiness. (or lack of) And that's why I think this is so important. Our God is a jealous God...to have that hindu idol in one's possession and not see any conflict with your "christian" beliefs? I would rather he call himself a hindu and be honest with that instead of trying to claim something else. I'll go a step further and say that this story was broken to put feelers out there....he is connected to Oprah, who believes there are millions of ways to God so why not put that out there to test the masses to see if there is any objection....so far I am seeing that
not only do the majority have no problem with it but they think it is irrevelant. I would term that spiritually naive, spiritually blind and absent the holy spirit with zero discernment.

Just curious as to why it was locked...I myself was not the thread starter, but I provided a link to the TIME Magazine article. Hmmm
