Many folks on this board are not only skeptical but downright venomous about the global warming issue...that's fine but give this a moment of thought...

Christians have been talking about the rapture for 2,000 years now. Global warming has been an issue for 20 at best...and because immediate and drastic results are not seen everywhere, at all times (dramatic and sarcastic, I know but it is to make a point...) then we see see threads from both sides full of rhetoric. But for TWO THOUSAND YEARS we as Christians have been faithful (full of faith) in the idea of the rapture... but yet when Point A and Point B haven't turned into desert and we're living comfortably then it can't be real.

Amidst your skepticism, don't forget that the world is bigger than your hometown. Many places are experiencing massive famines, droughts, and record-breaking heat. Scientists in Europe predicting a small ice-age in the 1800's would have been laughed off the planet...but it happened. Anyone predicting iPods and satellite TV 100 years ago would have the same thing...

Just remember the verse about faith in things unseen...just because you're not sweltering, don't think the big picture can happen, or whatever, don't think that it can't happen...

Now, with that said...I think the issue is much overblown yet I also think it is foolish to think that we can use, waste, and pollute and have no consequence... I just think it is silly to say there is no way this can happen since we don't see it today when we believe we will be raptured and have been steadfast in that for a very long time...

I agree with some of your thoughts---but I think you are also missing some points to ponder. During the tribulation, with all the terrible earthquakes, the sun and moon giving only half light, the oceans turning to blood ect., the antichrist is going to half to tell the world something (I believe it is going to be the global warming myth). I believe he will use these lies to convince the world that these catastrophes are not from God but because of the worlds abuses on the planet. Something to think about anyway.:thinking

Famines, droughts, etc go the whole way back to Moses' time. Global warming? Recorded high temperatures have been recorded in cycles. Currently, we are in a cycle as we were in the 30's. Has that been in the last 20 years?

We are experiencing climate change-yes. The argument is whether this is a man-made change or not. The "solutions" to climate change that have been proposed are highly dubious scientifically. They will create even more poverty, yet probably not have any discernable effect on the climate. One big volcanic eruption would undo all the carbon reduction measures. I believe the disasters occurring are because we have turned away from God, so in a sense they are man-made.

Global warning is a lie, devised by satan, to explain away the judgement of God.

I believe we are to care for the earth, but what we are seeing with the global warming panic and the green movement is closer to earth worship. The weather does move in cycles, I remember colder winters in the fifties and sixties than we have now and my mother remembers much colder weather in the twenties and thirties. I believe we are moving back to a colder, not warmer climate, but only time will tell. Just a thought: when God sent the plagues on Egypt, each plague involved one of the Egyptian gods. During the tribulation most judgments are against the earth. Could it be that He will judge the latest "god", old mother earth herself?

I disagree with the first part, but not the second.

There is global warming. It is happening. The cause, however, is not manmade emissions. It is probably more likely an abnormal solar cycle. Regardless, it is also biblical and building to a particular "event".

Rev 16:8

And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

You are right that this is how the AC/Satan will try to explain away the judgment.

1After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree.

24"But in those days, following that distress,
" 'the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;

Well, it appears solar and wind power alternates may not hold the answer for alternate energy source for long.
