Holding Pattern

Many folks on this board are not only skeptical but downright venomous about the global warming issue...that's fine but give this a moment of thought...
Christians have been talking about the rapture for 2,000 years now. Global warming has been an issue for 20 at best...and because immediate and drastic results are not seen everywhere, at all times (dramatic and sarcastic, I know but it is to make a point...) then we see see threads from both sides full of rhetoric. But for TWO THOUSAND YEARS we as Christians have been faithful (full of faith) in the idea of the rapture... but yet when Point A and Point B haven't turned into desert and we're living comfortably then it can't be real.
Amidst your skepticism, don't forget that the world is bigger than your hometown. Many places are experiencing massive famines, droughts, and record-breaking heat. Scientists in Europe predicting a small ice-age in the 1800's would have been laughed off the planet...but it happened. Anyone predicting iPods and satellite TV 100 years ago would have the same thing...
Just remember the verse about faith in things unseen...just because you're not sweltering, don't think the big picture can happen, or whatever, don't think that it can't happen...
Now, with that said...I think the issue is much overblown yet I also think it is foolish to think that we can use, waste, and pollute and have no consequence... I just think it is silly to say there is no way this can happen since we don't see it today when we believe we will be raptured and have been steadfast in that for a very long time...
