Hello, i am Josh, i hope you don't mind that I'm Jewish, because Jews also believe the final fight of gog and magog at har meggido, bringing in the end of times

And remember, for Jews, to get to heaven, you just have to be a good person, you can be Christian, Hindu or Sikhist, as long as you are a good person in your heart

Welcome Josh! :) Glad to have you here! This is a GREAT place... many awesome discussions going on! Hope you'll feel at home here! :hat Mother-of-nine, here, so of course my slogan is "there's always room for one more!" :lol2 WELCOME! :hug

As for your quote above.... Ooooo, I'm so sad to hear this. For, if indeed this were true, I guess that would definitely rule me out! My heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked (Jeremiah 17:9)... and I'm aware of only One Person Who was Good.

(Thankfully He's my Savior... Jesus Christ. :thumb In Whom is the only true hope and assuredness of heaven!) :wave

Welcome, welcome, welcome!
I must say that the statement that jews believe that being a good person gets you to heaven was a big surprise to me. I have never heard that before.
Look forward to talking to you!

Josh,

Most all of the other religions besides Chrisianity, and even some apostate Christian denominations, worship some sort of deity that is not the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. G-d gave the Hebrew/Jewish people specific laws that must be followed in order to go to Heaven. Being a good person was never mentioned.
Abraham, Noah and earlier others found favor with G-d for their faith and behavior, but that was before G-d gave his laws to Moses and then more to Aaron.
If you believe the words in the Torrah are of G-d, (The Old Testament books of our Bible), then surely you must know that just being a good person is not going to get anyone into Heaven. Jewish, Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Sikhist.......etc

Christians believe that Yeshua is the Messiah. He was born of a virgin in Bethlehem, Micah 5:2-3 just as prophesy said he would be. Yeshua is King of Kings, the only begotten Son of G-d. Yeshua is the passover sacrifice lamb of G-d who died on the cross to permanently cleans us from our sins. He rose from the grave three days later to conquer death for those who believe in him and to give visable proof to the world that he is the Son of the living G-d. He took our sin debt unto himself so their would be no more animal sacrafice for our sin unto G-d. All who accept Yeshua as Messiah are no longer required to follow the law to the letter. His laws are now written upon our hearts and we are under Yeshua's saving grace. Our sin debts are paid in full. We are washed in the blood of the living lamb of G-d.

By the word of G-d by his prophets, we believe that our Messiah will return again soon. Just as he gave signs for his first visitation, the signs he gave for his return are coming to pass as I type.

Here at Rapture Ready we believe that Yeshua will first call for those who are his from the clouds (the rapture) to bring us up to be with him in Heaven. Isaiah 26:17-21 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 1Corinthians 15:50-52
Another passover on a much grander scale.:)

Then, the great and terrible day of the Lord will begin. There are many verses for describing the great tribulation or the 70th remaining week (last 7 years) of Jacob's trouble. When the abomination that maketh desolate is set up and the daily sacrafice is again taken away it will be exactly 1290 days Daniel 12:10-11 and then the Messiah will come physically to Mount Zion with those of us who were called earlier at the Rapture and those who believe after the raptuture to rule and reign as King. Revelation 19:11-16

Exodus 20:1-6

1: And God spake all these words, saying,
2: I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3: Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6: And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Clearly our G-d is a jelous G-d and will not tolorate the practices of these other religions even if they were the best hearted people in the world.

Also, I believe G-d has led you here for a reason. G-d bless you Josh and I hope you will join in on our topics here. I learn something new every day. I hope you will as well.

Shalom
