Good job, Suzie! :hug
Praising the Lord along with you and praying for continued motivation and good results for you. :pray
I've been where you are, and indeed it is hard to start and then keep going. But as you are discovering, every day it gets a little bit easier and you get a little bit stronger. :) Pretty soon you'll be walking 5 miles! :yeah That eventually became my goal, and I found it helpful to take my car along the route that I wanted to walk and to check the odometer in several spots to see just how far it was. I marked off 2 1/2 miles in one direction, that way I knew if I walked that far, that going and then coming back equaled my 5 mile goal. :nod It didn't seem so overwhelming that way. :lol2
I had trouble with my feet at first too, so I'll share what worked for me. I finally broke down and bought a good pair of walking shoes. Ones that are specifically made for walkers. Try on several different pairs from different brands and choose the ones that feel the best on your feet. Try them on at the end of the day as our feet tend to swell as the day goes on, and also when we're walking. Try them on with the type of socks that you usually wear when walking, ie.. thin or thick socks.
You'll find that it will really help you. Not only your feet, but your other joints like your knees and hips as well. Sore feet or sore joints can sidetrack the best intentions of someone new to walking and the right shoes can help you avoid a lot of pitfalls.
Good luck, and enjoy your journey to better health. :hug
