i'm posting this in the women's forum even though it's a prayer request. it's a personal matter and i just feel more comfortable sharing it with you ladies. i had a dr's appt this morning, i have stopped having my period and haven't had one in 3 months. :faint I'm only 28 years old. And no, i'm definitely not pregnant. my dr ran a bunch of tests today, took some blood and did the regular pap smear. she won't be getting results back for a couple weeks and i'm worried. none of the general reasons for skipping periods really applies to my situation. I have not gained or lost alot of weight lately, i have not started working out, i'm not really under alot of stress and i haven't changed my diet. once my dr ran through all the preliminary questions and we ruled out all those reasons, then she started suggesting that my hormones could be out of whack and said that my blood test should indicate their levels. she said that i might have to take extra hormones if that's the case. which i'm not really sure how serious something like that is.

I'm just freaked, i'm still young and am scared that something really crazy is going on with me. in addition to the missed periods, the last 3 months, my emotions have been on a roller coaster. up one day, really down the next etc... :panic

i'm just asking for your thoughts on this, your prayers especially, and i thank you for listening to me....

Lisa, the part of your post where you describe the 'roller coaster' emotions is the tip off. It sounds like your Dr. is ordering all the right tests. Once all this gets regulated, your periods will likely return and you'll feel a whole lot better. :pray
Post again after your Dr. has a chance to help you.

This is what I'm thinking too, most likely it's a simple thing that can be corrected. I'm glad you're in the doctors care. :pray

Are you having any other symptoms? Have you had your thyroid checked? Thyroid being out of whack can really mess up cycles, and thyroid can really affect emotions.

Do let us know what you find out. Read the verses in my signature, and I hope they'll be a comfort to you:
