Been notified that my iMac has been shipped....from Shanghai, China.
:shocked
Delivery date, the 25th.
Whoohooo!!!Can't ask for a much more western/international city than Shanghai. Got some friends who got transfered there, they seem to like it quite well.

That's cool!
I never had a product shipped directly from Shanghai before. As of an hour ago, 12:05 AM their time, my iMac is on it's way.

iMac owner and MacBook owner. You will love the Mac, and, if you miss Windows (you won't), you can install Windows XP on a separate partition, and boot into either OS, so you can run any software out there, and it runs Windows better than my previous PC. I am a Mac owner for life after straying from them for two PCs I learned to hate very quickly.
Macs are also very reliable, and OS X is very stable.

I got an iMac for Dummies book and been reading up on it. Wow. I am a visual person, so I have to get serious hands-on when it comes. It sounds terrific!

Mac are terrific. They cost more, but it's worth every penny. If you are a visual person, the Mac OS is definitely for you. It's so well-designed in both practicality, ease of use, and aesthetic quality.
I have never spent a dime on a Mac repair, and I have owned several Apple computers over 20 years. I can't promise no repair would ever be needed, since I am fairly good at troubleshooting minor hiccups others may pay someone to troubleshoot, but the OS is so stable and the hardware so reliable, there's a reason Consumer Reports names Apple the most reliable brand.
Plus, you don't have to worry about viruses, spyware, etc. anymore, since most of those are written for Windows!

I already finished the Dummies book. Got another book about the Mac OS X.
Oh yes, I am eagerly waiting for my iMac. Been checking the Fed Ex tracking number, oh, every 15 minutes! :heh

Oh, that's the book he has- we don't have an iMac. :doh! (Can a brunette have blond moments?) It has helped him with the basics. He isn't much of a computer person except for iTunes, so I like to give him little projects like loading home movies and making photo slideshow cd's as gifts for family. My ultimate goal is for him to help me with my business designing easy stuff.

Yeah, hands-on experience is the best for me. Just let me tinker with it and I will get the gist of it.
