My wife is going through something strange. She's having tingling in her hands and feet and is very tired. The doctor has run blood tests and nothing has turned up yet. They've mentioned lupus and MS, which is a bit scary.

Are these symptoms that anyone has had with menopause? She's 44, so it's possible.

She's scheduled to see a neurologist next.

Thanks.

I don't think tingling in the extremities is a symptom of menopause.

It is not associated with menopause that I am aware of. I went into
menopause at 23 because of surgery and went through 15 years of it and I
never experienced tingling in the hands and feet. The extreme tiredness
I have from thyroid problems.

I don't think that is a symptom of menopause, but it isn't something to ignore. I had tingling and numbness in my feet some time back, and it turned out I had a bulged disk in my back which was pinching a nerve. It was corrected with the brief use of special steriods and chiropractic care. Hands though, could signal heart issues. Praying for your wife. :pray

You may want to check Fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

FM has a pressure point test, CFS is deduced by ruling everything else out.

Also check for Lymes disese. (any recent tick bites?)

Doesn't sound like menopause at all.

Has she had blood work done?

I had tingling in the hands and feet years ago after the birth of my second child. The doctors tested me for lupus, etc. and never found anything. I believe in retrospect it was a combo of postpartum hormonal issues and my natural "like everything to be just so," personality (and it never is...especially when you add a baby (or any stressor) to a situation). I'm hoping it's just anxiety attacks for your wife too.

Prayers and hugs for your wife and for you, too!
