GREAT!! Now my blood pressure is up again!! Thanks a lot!! :doh :hug

You are 100% correct and it makes my blood boil!! Like this Sunday is the "program" for VBS. The entire point of VBS is to reach the lost community. So if we have 59 kids in the VBS program and 80% of them are not from the church then we should have a jam-packed program full of why we need Jesus Christ and the salvation He offers. Will we get that? Most likely not, but again I am going to talk to the pastor and see what he has planned. I was sitting here last night thinking how if they aren't going to preach salvation than after the service I am going to stand on my soap back and start evangelizing like they do in WOTM. I've done it before and it really gets peoples attention and makes them think.

I kid you not; my heart is beating so fast I could have a heart attack!! Our time is soooo short we should be screaming it from the roof tops that we should repent and be saved!!
And that's why I take blood pressure meds. :aha

I seriously think that every Bible study, every sermon , every opportunity, the way to be saved should be presented. If that means that people stay away in droves because they don't like to be convicted, so be it. At least the seeds will be planted.

If you ever get a chance, listen to "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God".

A few weeks ago, we had a child become ill in the Sunday school while worship was going on in the main sanctuary. She was around 7 years old. They broke into the service and made an announcement to try and find the parents, but THEY WERE NOT THERE!

It turned out, they were using Sunday School as the babysitter so they could go have breakfast and hang out, and there was no way to reach them. I have even heard of parents doing it with INFANTS in the infant child care that's provided.

It all sounds suspiciously like the parents you described dropping their kids off and then going grocery shopping! I think dropping your kids off and leaving them anywhere (including a church) is potentially a dangerous thing, if there's no way to contact the parents. What if the child becomes injured or ill?

We don't do children’s church, Sunday school or any of the other kids "programs" because too many people use them as babysitting opportunities. Why can't a child sit with their family and listen to Gods word? Why do we always have to separate them from us? So many parents just use the church and so many don't get what they are worshiping for!

:thumb I did years ago, and it's AWESOME! POWERFUL!
But these days sis, "we don't want to offend anyone or frighten people by mentioning Hell. Don't want to be called a fire and brimstone preacher. Don't want to step on any toes, because afterall... God is Love."

Our God of Love also has another side to Him which was shown to us in the Old Testament very clearly. :nod It was displayed again by Jesus when he drove the merchants out of the temple. And clearly we see it again in the book of Revelation. Jesus talked more about Hell then Heaven. Due to the churches unacceptence of preaching on Hell, many more will be in Hell then should have been.

I'm sorry, but I'm using my barf bag right at the moment, as soon as I found out that Greg Laurie had gone PDL.

I was really upset yesterday so thanks for letting me vent. I listened to WOTMradio last night online and they were talking about the same thing and how people aren't in church for the right reasons. The played a reading of Jonathan Edwards "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" and I just cried. We have so many lost people and so many of them are sitting in the church pews.

Which is why we should lift them up in prayer and intercede for them instead of venting on a message board. :idunno

Sorry, that could have come across harsher than I meant it to. :hug

I just see so many people talking about situations like this but not really doing anything about it. I apologize. :)
