Hi everyone, my name's Kathryn, and I thought since I'm new, I'd say hello. I'm an 18-year-old who came to Christ indirectly through the Left Behind Series at age 12. I guess it opened my eyes to what Jesus had to offer someone like me, someone who felt useless and unable to do anything for God. It also showed me the urgency of accepting Christ's free gift of salvation and urging others to do the same.
Of course, being a litte naive and young, I went off and spread the Good News by telling all my relatives about Jesus and the End Times and my views on things, and I went about this in the wrong way. I think I turned my family away from Christ with my young eager attitude. Over time, I have developed an "arsenal" of knowledge I can use to plead the case for Christ, and I am working on my family with a gentle, quiet urgency. For example, every morning when they wake up, there is a daily bible passage and really short prayer for the day in each of their top drawers. But the biggest tool I've learned to use is to teach others about Jesus through my actions. If I am not walking the walk, then what good are my words? I think my actions are having an impact, and my mom has recently been asking me questions about my views on our daily walks.
But this does not mean I am this perfect, young advocate for Christ who has no issues whatsoever. I struggle sometimes to live like Christ wants me to live, and I struggle with specific temptations that seem to get me every time. I'm getting better, but some days its like I'm running a race and I'm going straight uphill, and Satan's like, "I can make you feel better...all you have to do is give into your temptations and the race will be easier". Sometimes I listen, and then a guilty feeling sits in the pit of my stomach, and I ask God to forgive me for losing that battle. But other times I'm like, "Satan, get away from me, I know you're lying" and I rise above his lies.
I still have questions about things, and I know I have a lot to learn. But that excites me. Its always awesome to learn more about Christ and Christianity in general, and this website is a great place for me to be in fellowship with other believers and learn some things. I am waiting in joyful hope and anticipation for Christ's return, and everyday I see signs that make me believe his return is fast approaching. In the meantime, I will try to live the life Christ wants me to live, and I work hard to do His will. I hope to learn a lot from you all :)
Oh, and I'm pretty much ADDICTED to this site! When I first found it, I spent HOURS reading articles and being AMAZED at what I was reading. I mean look at the signs!! It's INCREDIBLE!
