Interesting. I know the Home Depot in my town is closing. We also had a Gold Star Chili only open about 8 months that closed. We went to Bob Evans Friday night with the kids and were seated right away. Weird! I hope Old Navy and Gap stay open, I love shopping there!

Old Navy and the Gap are the ONLY stores where I can find jeans that fit me! I'm very petite and regular stores carry so little in petite sizes. The petite shops are way too expensive, so I always go to Old Navy or the Gap. I wish I had the money to stock up on jeans now!:sob You know, to hold me over until the rapture. Which I've been thinking....

You all better make sure you buy what you need NOW. You might not be able to buy things in the future.:ohno Such as warm clothing, blankets, etc. And anything you've been putting off, do it now! Such as if you need eye glasses? Or a tooth that bothers you which you know will cause big problems unless you have it taken care of. IMPORTANT MATTERS NEED TO BE TAKEN CARE OF NOW.

Sorry for getting off topic, but I felt I needed to stress this. I've been pushing our 4 grown kids to do this. Don't procrastinate!

Bombay is restructuring its website.
It's a temporary closure.
Can't check all the stores listed, but it seemed odd that the first one I checked was misleading.

Lisa, Bombay is closing all of its stores. They filed for bankruptcy last September and do plan on closing all of their stores. You can google it and find news article after news article about it.

That serves HD right for building some of these stores in places they never should have. Greed:doh

Only thing I can think of is that someone bought the rights to the name and is going to try to open up an online business. But as far as the retail stores, all 384 of them should close their doors sometime this year.

Kelly, that's a very interesting link. Thanks!

(It's like a slide-show and has info on why each chain is closing stores.)

I noticed they mention Lillian Vernon is also closing. They are mail order and online only, no physical stores. Filed for bankruptcy in February. (slide #32)
