'Reyes-Chow's relaxed style also provided a window into his thinking about one of the most heated issues in the PC(USA), which came up several times in the question and answer period on Saturday night. Responding to a question about "inclusivity" and standards for ordained officers, Reyes-Chow was clear that he favored the ordination of practicing gays and lesbians. He commented that Presbyterians need to name the issue forthrightly and have open conversation about it: "No elephants in the room," he said, which he lifted up as a rule in his own ministry.'
