anyone know anything about Frank Demazio? Is he emergent?

my friend just had a conference with him and she is telling me how he really made her think.
she's in college at a place that most of you would probably term emergent.. I'm not sure. But I'm going to have a challenge when she comes home next month from school.
anyway, here's what she just said to me:

friend: i just got home from a day of intensives... at the ***** campus. it was soooo good. i was really challenged today

me: oh awesome how so?

friend: frank demazio from a church in portland came and talked to us and he was just on fire and really challenged me in the sense of leadership and my team and encouragement. and then there was a session on wearing God's mantle.. and wearing His greatness. it was good

me: what does that mean exactly? wearing His greatness?

friend: he was reading out of 2 kings... and the garment that was worn which symbolised everything, from what was eaten, the tears shed, the prayers prayed... it was your life. it was everything. that was the mantle. and God's mantle is greatness and majesty and everything that God is. and we are to wear God's mantle and carry it with us as we represent Christ.

So? opinions? comments? nothing to worry about? I've never heard of him personally. But I never know what she's being fed over there. She's the one that owns that Erwin McMannus book I threw out. And she is also into listening to Rob Bell, Judah Smith, etc etc etc.

*sigh* just don't know what to do

Demazio's church is a "City Church", which is associated with Wendell Smith of the City Church in Kirkland, WA. Demazio is mixed up with the Word/Faith movement through Smith and Paul Yonggi Cho. I attended Smith's church for a month (about six years ago) and Demazio's name came up as an associate, friend, and all-around good-guy-proponent of Smith's W/F philosophy. Smith and Demazio are working to have City Church in every city to take over the world "for Christ". They are also mixed up with C. Peter Wagner's New Apostolic Reformation.

Tommy Tenney (the TBN / Jesus-only teacher-author) was at Smith's church one weekend also. He has NOTHING concrete to say from the Word of God, just the regurgitation of his books, God Chasers and God Catchers.

It's possible Frank Demazio has changed his tune to emergent/emerging, but the W/F movement, New Apostolic Reformation, and emergent are all of the same spirit - not of the Spirit of God.

FYI

Wendell Smith is part of the Global Pastors Network's Spiritual Formation. I don't know if Demazio is also part of the GPN.
