When we hear that the Lord will come at an unexpected time and like a thief in the night, don't you kind of get the feeling that it will be in the middle of "good" times? Right now the world is in global turmoil and everyone's waiting with eager antiicipation to have the Rapture happen. But my feeling is that during the good times is when your devotion toward desiring to be with the Lordwill be tested. Right now I am so sick of the selfishness and the utter disreguard for human life, it makes me sick! My life is hard because of gas and food prices. So right now I am REALLY ready for the Rapture! But would II be ready if things were going great? I hope so. It just seems that right now is "TOO" perfect for it to happen. Like the whole thing about Dec. 21st 2012. I don't know what significance this date will actually have, but I can tell you one thing:the Rapture will not happen on that day. This is why I kind of question whether right now is the time. It almost seems like things will get unsettlingly better. Then the end will come. Gas prices will come back down...a little. We may have growing peace around the world. Crime rates dropping. The economy doing better. Then the Rapture. I don't know. Just thinking out loud. Anybody have any thoughts on this?

Anyone who thinks things are 'bad' now needs to talk to someone who went through World War II.
My mother was in her teens near London during the blitz. One of her jobs was to search for people amongst the rubble after air raids.
The current 'inconveniences' arent anywhere near 'bad' yet...

also, very few are waiting for the rapture...when you are here, you are with like-minded people but very few in the church believe we are in the last days and you'd be surprised at how few even believe in the rapture, trib, millennium etc or they believe the rapture is a second coming event.....

I agree with the other two... although there is a school of thought that says otherwise.
In fact that leads to another question I had.. hopefully this one isn't breaking any rules.
The days of Noah refers to the condition of the world. But what about the condition of His church? Do you all believe that there will be a small remnant like the Noah 8 or will the church be alive and vibrant? I mean I know that question itself can get real deep. I know that the condition of the church in America is not the same as the condition of the church say in China. But the guy I was talking made a point that I don't know how I feel about. he said that he doesn't think Jesus will come back to a battered and beaten bride (the church), that he will come back to a glorious and revived church. I mean that kinda makes sense but, I don't know that it checks with the bible. Again, in modern american culture, the emphasis at a wedding is put on the bride but I don't think that was the case in Jewish Traditions? Wasn't the emphasis placed on the groom, which to me makes more sense because the emphasis should always be on Jesus and not us? So what do you think?
For the world, I have to agree like the days of Noah, but that doesn't necassarilly mean a bad economy and high gas prices.
What about the church? Apostasy or Revival? I lean towards Apostasy.

IMO, I don't believe there are all 'that many' people looking to or forward to the rapture right now. Yes, alot of us here on RR, are eagerly awaiting it, but for most people these days, it just seems like no one is very concerned about it, especially in alot of churches.

Jesus returns to a luke warm church, not a good church. He also said it would be like the days of Noah...not a good thing!

That what I think but I couldnt remember the scripture that says that. The guy I was talking to had no scripture to back up his point of view and that it was just his theory. There's alot of danger in that.

:thumb We are in the Laodecean church age, lukewarm, falling away, apostacy. No revival according to scripture. Jesus has absolutely nothing good to say about the Laodecean church (all the other ones have something good in them). Within each church age there are members of each of the seven churches but the general condition of the church of our age is lukewarm and being vomited out of His mouth.
