could not have said it better myself...well gotta go I am about to watch the Houston Dynamo play....ps. did anyone see the NBA draft, that beasly kid has a future....alright :heh
I watched for sure. We were pulling for Joe Alexander from WV and OJ Mayo a native born West Virginian. They were drafted 8th and 3rd respectively. I'll be cheering for both in their NBA careers. Beasley could have been a Mountaineer too had Bob Huggins arrived at WVU one year earlier.

No detailed Sports talk in the 'What is the deal with sports' thread. You already have plenty of your own threads for such conversations. Some of us are completely uninterested in that stuff. Seriously. I personally could not care less...

No Sports stats talk in the 'What is the deal with sports' thread. You already have plenty of your own threads for such uninteresting conversations. Some of us really completely uninterested in that stuff...
I don't know if you're trying to be funny by talking about my mention of stats in this thread. I don't think I went overboard at all and it's in relation to the thread, so if someone else comments on them I will add more if I want to. I've never mentioned stats before and am by no means a stat-head. If it 'bores' you then don't read my comments.

You posted a reply while I was still editing mine, however...I don't know if you're trying to be funny by talking about my mention of stats in this thread. Im being serious. Sports are completely irrelevant in my (and apparantly other's) world.
I don't think I went overboard at all and it's in relation to the thread,... Im not sure how talking about sports stats are relevant to a 'what is the deal with sports?' thread, but YMMV...
...so if someone else comments on them I will add more if I want to. Fair enough. I commented on yours...

FYI, I created another thread to avoid turning this one into an argument... :)

Yeah, seems like the sports-enthousiasts can't keep the accompanying sports statistics out of threads discussing why people like sports.
While they don't mean it in a bad way, as far as i know, it is disturbing and comes over as rude and abrasive.
It would be like me telling what kind of hamburger i like best when someone in a football thread would mention eating a hamburger during a game.
Not meant in a bad way, but it does disrupt the thread and comes over as rude and abrasive.
Anyway, i do understand the competition by proxy argument for liking sports, altohugh i do not watch sports myself.

There are alot of good health reason that go along with sports. when I was alot younger I was a swimmer and I went all the way into college swimming even swimming in the junior olympics. And then as i got older I had health issue that took sports away and I don't even really watch sports anymore except NFL. But other than that I got into video gaming, japanese anime and building pc but every once in awhile I enjoy a good football game. I am getting back into swimming for health reasons. But we like what we like and we should except people for what they like.

Hootmon, your comments don't normally bore me I usually enjoy them. I was just surprised and felt hurt. I didn't think my comments about the game I created as a young boy with dice were going to bore people.

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding as well, Hootmon. Ah, these darn computers. It's so easy for this to happen. Thanks for clearing that up. :)
