Ladies (and some of you men that sneak in here),

I thought this might be a good idea to have in here. With all the rising costs of gas, groceries and basic necessities I figured if I posted the local sales it might help someone that for whatever reason doesn't get the flyers in their mailbox. Also, I know that it would help some people to just come in here and look to find all the deals in one place and not have to hunt for them. Time, after all, is money. :)

I've asked that this be made into a sticky so that I can come back in here and update the specials every week. If any of you want to join in with the specials for your area, please feel free to do so. The more the merrier and the more that we can help others to get the most value for their dollar.

I live in the Dallas, Texas area. Not in Dallas proper but I think it's pretty much the same costs in the area.

Here are some good deals that I found on this weeks grocery store flyers:

Albertsons:

Oscar Mayer all meat hot dogs and Kraft 16 oz cheese singles are 2/3.00

Kraft Barbecue sauce is 79 cents for 18 oz. bottle

Kraft Mayo or Miracle Whip 32 oz 2/4.00

Boneless Rump roast is 1.99/lb

GM or Kellogs Cereals (various) 4/10.00 there are alot of coupons for cereal in the Sunday newspaper which will bring the price of these even lower.

Post Cereals (various) 5/10.00

Breakstone sour cream 16 oz. container 2/3.00

Tombstone frozen pizza (various) 3/10.00 this is a really good price since they are running at 4.50 and 5.00 if not on sale.

Albertsons brand shredded or chunk cheese 2 lb pkg for 6.99...even Walmart brand is almost 8.00 every day price. So Walmart will honor that price.

Ok...from Friday June 27th until Sunday June 29th. They have these awesome deals:

Albertsons large dozen eggs for 99 cents.

C&H Pure Cane Sugar 4 lb bag for 99 cents and there's a 30 cent coupon in last Sunday's Red Plum flyer. I've got two coupons so I'll get 8 lbs of sugar for 1.38 (at Walmart) :yeah

Eckrich Smoked Sausage 1 lb pkg for 1.99

Nectarines are 99 cents per lb

Boneless top sirloin steak 3.99/lb

London Broil 3.99/lb

Trimmed Brisket 99 cents/lb w/20.00 additional purchase

Dr. Pepper/Pepsi/Mountain Dew soft drinks 5 12-pks for 11.00

KROGER:

Same price on brisket

Yoplait Yogurt 10/5.00

Doritos are 1.77 for a 12.5 oz bag

Soft Drinks are same price as Albertsons

Baby back ribs are 2.99/lb

Smart Ones frozen dinners are 6/10.00

Van Camps pork and beans are 2/88 cents

Chef Boy Ardee pasta w/meat or Manwich sauce 70 cents/can (must buy 10)

2 liter bottle of Coca Cola or Sprite 70 cents (must buy 10)

Chicken leg quarters 59 cents/lb

Pork Tenderloin 2.99/lb

Kiwi fruit 4/1.00

Oreos, Chips Ahoy or Ritz Crackers 2/5.00

VO5 shampoo for 79 cents/bottle

StayFree Maxi Pads (various) 2 pkgs/5.00

Tom Thumb

Seedless green grapes are 97 cents/lb

80% Lean ground beef is 99 cents/lb

Rice-a-Roni 88 cents/box

Kraft Salad dressing 2/3.00

Safeway Ketchup is 99 cents for 24 oz bottle

KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce 2/3.00 18 oz. bottle

Lucerne Milk 2 gallons/6.00

I've only listed the items that have the best deals. Also...Walgreens has Spam lunchmeat on sale for 1.99/can...there's a coupon in last Sunday's Smart Source flyer for 50 cents off.

Lysol cleaning products 2/4.00 and there are coupons in last Sunday's paper for these very products....from 50 cents off per item to 1.00 off. (Walgreens)

Quilted Northern TP 9 rolls for 4.00 (Walgreens)

If I come across any more great deals, I'll come back and add them accordingly.

God Bless you all and may His blessings keep us all well-fed, sheltered and worry-free. Most important of all...may we learn to praise Him during this economical storm no matter what. :hug

What I do:

I have joined a subscription site that does the research for me. The name of the service is "The Grocery Game", it was featured about a year ago on Good Morning America and that is when I joined.

What they do is keep a database of prices in your area for different products and run the ads for your local grocery store against the database given the current sales and available coupons. A list of products is generated weekly by store that tells you when an item is worth buying and how many-which coupons to use and where the coupons are found.

Alot of people are saving because they are able to buy at low prices and effectively build a stockpile.

I'm not doing that as much only purchasing items and brands that I know I will use but buying in multiple quantities. I've been able to cut my food bill by 30 %, but I need to keep on top of it to do it.

Another benefit to this way of shopping is that I go with a list of exactly what I need and where to buy it, and I have the appropriate coupons in hand before I go. A little advanced planning is needed but most of the hard work is already done for me.

Right...I have a membership there. :)

However, since I already get the sales flyers in the mail and I get the coupons from Sunday's newspapers which I get 2 for price of one on Monday morning, I'm going to only pay for 1 of their lists. Anything worth having is going to take a little work. I don't mind.

Just so you know there is a site called the GROCERY GUIDE that is free.

DustyOpal has a thread in economics on money saving tips too, it's not a sticky-should I merge the two threads here? What do you all think?

For anybody trying to coordinate coupons and check grocery & drug store sale prices, please visit www.couponmom.com

You do need to register, but it is free. I've used this site for quite some time. It is very user friendly and the ads are updated more quickly than the grocery game site.

If you need help navigating or have any coupon questions, let me know. My coupon binder goes EVERYWHERE with me! Even my kids know we only buy it if it's on sale or we have a coupon for it.

Question-
I have never used coupons in my life, mainly because I buy the wwtore brands and not the name brands.
But I know there are alot of sites that that let you PRINT off coupons. I have been told that most grocery stores do not accept printed coupons. Is that correct?

It really depends on the individual manager's policy at each store. Target almost always accepts internet coupons. Fraud has been a problem in the past and grocery stores are much more reluctant to accept anything printed from a laser or inkjet printer. I tend to stay away from the printed ones because of the great deals I can still get without them. However, that's easy for me to do since I have four other people that give me what they don't want from Sunday inserts.

If you have a particular store in mind where you'd like to use coupons, just stop by customer service on your next trip and ask them what their policy is on coupons printed from the internet. I haven't found a store yet that won't take the glossies from the Sunday paper.
