Oil prices rose on Thursday, supported by risks to unrest in producer nations and a weak dollar, after sliding a day earlier on easing concerns about US energy supplies, analysts said.
The president of OPEC, Algerian Energy Minister Chakib Khelil, predicted Thursday that oil prices could rise to 150-170 dollars a barrel during the northern hemisphere summer.

Forgive me for saying this...but I think they are loving this....I think they love seeing the price go up and Americans suffering and i think Congress loves it too because they refuse to do the obvious...drill for oil at home! ....so I have come to the conclusion that not only does OPEC like seeing us suffer...but our own government does too...

How stupid is this? Someone says "I think oil prices could hit 170!", and then oil goes up to over 140? Talk about a self fulfilling prophecy!

This morning I heard a so called expert say that we would possibly hit "$7.00 a gallon for gas by 2010 paying more for gasoline then we do for food." That has got to be the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard. Gas goes up our food and everything else we need to live on goes up as well. Even at $4.00 & $5.00 a gallon that cost hasn't completely been passed on to the consumer yet, we will all be in for some serious sticker shock in the weeks and months ahead. I do not believe people really understand the impact rising energy cost are going have on our every day lives just in the next six months if fuel cost do not begin to stabilize.

We as the public need to demand to our politicians on both sides of the isle to unify there energy message to stop the speculators from driving up the oil price. You cannot have one side saying no new production and the other side saying increase production all that does is send a message that nothing is going to change so the price can keep rising based on the current supplies being stagnant.

The Oil industry needs a commitment to build new Refineries and a open door to new exploration or the consequences are hyper inflation and a collapsing economy. Just look at what has already happen to the Airlines Industry, another $2.00 a gallon and the only people flying will be business class if they are big enough to afford it. Then there will be to classes of people the rich and the poor. Socialism at its best. We are all a punch of frogs in a pot of water and the burner is on HIGH.:tsk:ohno:)

You are definitely right. I agree with that. Gas prices are rising anywhere from .15 - .20 cents today. It is getting crazy.. but still...... I am not worried. The Lord has brought me such peace about everything. I know a lot of you guys have been saying that too.. He really is preparing us and our hearts for the big move! :thumb :thumb I often find myself looking at the sky and listening for trumpets, normally when im driving! thats how close I feel we are :yeah :yeah :yeah

Well, you know what though? Fine go to $10 or $12 a gallon.

Most things will grind to a halt and even the middle class won't be able to swing it.

It won't stay that high too long as the majority won't be able to pay it at that price.
And large surpluses of gas will build up thus causing it to drop.

I've finally come to the conclusion that we can't do a darn thing about it and I just can't sit around and worry about it.
I have made a vow in the meantime, to brainstorm and work harder this week coming up with even more business video opportunities to increase my $$$ intake so I can keep ahead of this and stay on the offensive while gas prices are still "a bargain" at $3.75 here.

That's what I keep wondering too. Everyday someone else is coming out saying "oil will hit $xxx" so the price jumps in reaction. If the Saudis say the price is too high, ableit for their own greedy reasons, then I wish we would put more stock into that. But whatever....:ohno
