ok, so talking with my good friend today, who is a lesbain, on our morning bike ride, she told me about how she and some other friends of ours had gone to the gay pride parade in san fran this past week. we talked about how it was, and if she saw any protestors or anything. she said yeah, and she said "well if u take religion out of it, then theres no reason to be against it." and then i kind of told her that some of those people are doing it all wrong...those with signs that say "God hates u" and stuff like that. i then told her about God's real message, and the salvation He has offered us through Jesus, and all about sin. thinking back on what i said, cuz the convo kind of went to her after that, i mean she kept saying "really?" when i would talk about stuff in the Bible, and that was cool, but later on, i just couldnt help think.....oh man, how could i forget to say this, or that ya know? i mean i know im not perfect, and i have faith that since i planted this seed, then God will be faithful and save my friend. i just cant help but think i wasnt very good in what i said. i was kind of all over the place sometimes and now im like mannnnn, i wasnt that great. i know its all about what the Holy Spirit does from here on out, but i cant help but feel i could have been better. anyone ever feel like that?

Dread, you did great! Even a little seed can grow mightily, and sometimes a little seed is more powerful than a LOT of info. (The unbeliever can get easily swamped, and tune out completely with too much info.) Keep praying for your friend, and that the Holy Spirit will plant the truth about Jesus and His personal love for her carefully into her heart. She may even come back to you asking more questions!
Good job, and keep up the great work!

you are not expected to do any more than you did...God can do the rest!
Great for you for speaking up at all!!

I've often felt that it is not so much what we say, but our sincerity when we say it.

It's our sincerity that truly speaks to the other person, even when our words don't come out real well.

I just finished skimming a great book called "Kingdom of the Cults", and I have some encouragement for you:

We are called to plant seeds--God gives the increase. God's word is powerful, and does not return to Him empty.

I believe God honors our faithfulness to speak the truth. Now pray for your friend, that the seed will bear fruit.

Walter Martin stresses in one part of the book that repetition in different words is necessary to open people's eyes. Don't be discouraged, but speak the truth in love.

I just came over from the thread of the Way of the Master posts ("send this to your lost friends/family") and yipes...I did it. I sent the site for the ER thing, seedsower's myspace page, and the address of way of the master itself to like...oh I don't know how many of my friends and family members who are devout catholic!! We'll see how this goes over!
