Thanks for the response Keiffers4Christ. It was nice to finally see some versus that do touch the subject of marking the skin. As I said I was just curious to your personal beliefs, mostly because you were the only one to give a verse that, to me, seemed to directly be talking about tattoos.
KarenB I'm not arguing or attacking you here, but I didn't know tattoos have an occultic meaning, or come from the occult, could you provide some sort of source to back that up? I would tend to think that the occult grasped on to tattoos, but not that tattoos came out of the occult, would you care to explain? and also show us a source for that information?

KarenB what did you mean when you said that what Keiffer4Christ said sounds agnostic?
I was under the impression that agnostic meant....
1: a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (as God) is unknown and probably unknowable; broadly : one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god
2: a person unwilling to commit to an opinion about something <political agnostics>

You have a fairy tattoo? I worked with a woman who was a Wiccan, and she was completely into fairies. There is, apparently, a connection between witches and fairies. :thinking

I wouldn't use tattoos to lead people away from hell... I think what they meant was that it could spark up conversation with non-believers. To me, I don't look at a tattoo any differently than a Jesus fish. And so what if it "looks" like a gangster church, if Jesus was around today, the same way he looked back then, most people would think he was a bum, would Jesus turn somebody away from church because of a tattoo I THINK NOT. one of the strongest christians I know, that has helped me with his wisdom and knowledge when I was struggling in my faith, has pretty much his whole entire body tattood, I don't think that has anything to do with who he is and where he is going. Joe Ross you seem quick to judge.

Lisababy you said you would take the negative also. Leviticus 19:28 says "You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord". Many people say well, that is the "Law" and we are not under the "Law". I agree we are not under the "Law" but I also believe that the Lord made this rules for a reason. He did not just select certain animals and foods to eat or not eat by drawing them out of a hat. He chose those foods because they are not good for you (ie. pork, shellfish ect.). I also believe he said not to tattoo, cut or mare the body for a reason. Just a thought and something to think about.

This is where grace and the law kinda make it hard for me. Meaning, the Word says not to make any cuttings on your flesh nor tattoo. But then it also goes on to say Dont cut your beard a certain way.
And of course men cut their beards all the time. So please explain, because this is starting to get a little confusing for me-

If I stopped shaving I would lose my job, but then again I guess I could just try to be a pastor, then I could grow my hair out and never cut it or shave or whatever it is I'm not supposed to do right? Cuzzzz I dont' know, but I have a feeling pastors have a dress-code, but I guess I never looked into it, that's actually a good question for anybody that might know, is there a dress code for a church pastor? and if so, is there any rules regarding how they are to keep their facial hair and head hair (head hair sounds funny to me) ?

the reason not to cut there beards is "they were not" to carry themselfs as the other nations ,,,but were to be a people set apart from the world Holy
unto GOD, it was GODS way of saying to them dont be like the world
there are more unbelivers with tattoos then beilivers,,,what does that teach us? why do unbeilivers get tattoos?.why do christians get tattoos?
