This past weekend I was traveling through an unfamiliar town and decided to pull into a Wendy's for a cheap snack. I was going to order something small off the dollar menu. However, the drive-thru attendant told me they were no longer offering any of the items from the dollar menu. So I left and pulled across the street to the Burger King. BK told me almost the same thing, except they were offering just 2 items from their dollar menu.

Neither restaurant had removed the dollar menus from their drive-thru signs yet so I am thinking that this change has just occurred. But it was weird. I know this was just another sign of the economic times we are living in, but for some reason this worried me more than usual.

Things must be getting bad if they can't afford to sell me a Junior Bacon cheeseburger for a buck like they used to.

Up here it has benn the $1.50 menu for years... I expect it'll be the $3 or $4 menu soon with the way food prices are spiraling upwards...

Eh, I never eat off the dollar menu anyway.

Might just be that they were always taking a hit from the cheap menu, so getting rid of it would increase profits. With so many places closing down, I wouldn't be surprised if they were trying to try and open some places back up.

I'm wondering when the one dollar stores are going to become "two" dollars stores! Can't be too long now, can it? :nod

Most "Dollar stores" sell imported junk and as the dollar sinks they will be forced to up the prices, these may become a thing of the past soon....just like the Arabs stated today, expect to pay alot more and get over it.....

We really need to get off of oil, soon. If there was any way that I could get to work other than a car, I would jump on it, but I am stuck. I work too far from home, unfortunately.
