They better not close the one by my work. Not my 24 hour Starbucks!

Since I'm allergic to coffee, my only concern is for the workers.

It's fine with me....we make cappucino (sp?) at home sometimes as I will not pay those prices. Plus, our close by Starbucks would not hire a young man graduating HS here because he ROTC and was going into the military. They later changed their policy after many customers said how wrong this was and said they could keep that expensive coffee :heh. I do feel bad for those losing jobs tho :ohno
Will not give up coffee, if times get bad we will drink instant as I am squirreling that away. :thumb I will give up all beef just to have my coffee :nod
Blessings to all,

Funny, I'm a Starbucks freak. I love it. For a while there I was drinking two or three a week. But lately I've stopped, and now only treat myself on occasion. I just cannot spend the money anymore. $5 coffees are too much.

This is one of the closings I spoke about when all this gas price-hike business started.
It is a bad sign, when Starbucks closes, because the poor don`t frequent it to start with.
That leaves the middle and upper classes already feeling the squeeze.

That was my thought too. And it only makes sense. Unless earnings are quadrupling all the way around, or this continual rising of costs in every aspect of our lives levels out at some time....well it is going to get bumpy for even them.

I expect the ice cream shops, bakeries, and fast-food restaurants to start closing soon, also. This trickle-down will hit them all. And it is so sad - more jobs lost in an already bad economy.

I think they opened way to many to begin with. I hate to see them have to close so many though. My husband and I only get coffee from them once a week now. It use to be more often but we had to back off. Gas prices are killing us.

You mean people are not spending all that money on coffee anymore, I just don't get it. They must not be listening to all of the airbags on cnn, you know the ones that keep saying there is no recession and everything is going to turn around.......once people really figure out how deep the pile of stuff were all sinking, in its gonna be ugly.
I think people are already starting to get wound up over everything, I sure am glad I gave up road rage, drivers are starting to react to all of the "stuff" going on.
