I have to say I kind of always had a concern over "empowering girls" to become whatever they want to be, but I never even knew some of the info that I read in the article on the RR News.

The Girl Scouts' new radicalism
The Girl Scouts of the USA have been on a steady, well-documented leftward slide for many years. (More on that later.) But this summer, the organization is about to take a giant leap even further in that direction.
(You can find the link to the article on the RR News page)

I just emailed it (the article) to the leaders of my daughter's troop and also put in the link for the "American Heritage Girls" which sounds like an AWESOME organization! I said "Anybody want to start an AHG troop? :)"

The Girls Scouts have always best leftist. Not like the Boy Scouts of America. Two entirely different entities. Just look up their beliefs.

I was never in the Girl Scouts growing up and had heard for the most part great things about the organization. However, three years ago I worked as the Waterfront Director at a Girl Scout camp in NC. I was shocked at how liberal the orgnaization is and found my conservative views to be in a small minority among the staff and administration. After experiencing it first hand I told my husband and family I would never allow my daughter to join a troop.

I used to go to Pioneer Girls when I was young. It was church based, we had devotionals, cute blue uniforms with a sash, and we earned badges. I can still sing the theme song.

anyone else go to Pioneer Girls?

when I was a girl scout leader 20 years ago, I saw the lesbian activists infiltrating the ranks of the leaders and higher up. I was disgusted and pulled my girls out shortly after. I was a girl scout for 6 years in school and loved it, but it changed in the 80's for the worse. It was ripe for it.

Thank you guys so much for posting this. I have a Junior Scout and a Brownie Scout. I have to do more research and let this soak in. Thanks again, guys!

I don't want to upset anyone in our town (very liberal!) but I'd like to start an American Heritage Girls troop, I think. Next year would be perfect, my son starts full day school. Ooh, such a big responsibility, though!
