What should I take to new neighbor?

We are moving into a farmhouse and our nearest neighbor owns a farm. I understand they are an older couple and we would like to stop by and introduce ourselves. I would like to bring something, but I'm not sure if they'd appreciate any homemade food (pies, bread) since they don't know me. Plus, I cook and bake fine but nothing to brag about :heh. Hospitality is definately NOT my gift--:)--any suggestions?

I know you said you aren't the best at baking, but this was a nice idea done to me. When my husband and I moved into our new home, we didn't need anything, and told people so when they asked. Our neighbors were so kind, for our housewarming, they gave us a plate of homemade cookies on a nice ceramic serving platter. On the underneath of the platter, they had all autographed it and written 'Welcome to *******!' in permanent marker. I thought it was very sweet, made us feel welcome, and it was useful (and tasty) too!

When we moved in our house two months ago, a neighbor brought over a cake for us. She told us that she had initially made a casserole for us but her husband took a bite out of it.:lol2

I used to deliver with Meals on Wheels to older couples... a lot of them have health conditions and can't eat the crazy sugary stuff we all love:) I'd bake them some bread and take it to them. I remember visiting a church and they gave fresh homemade bread to everyone visiting the church as a welcome gift...it was so nice and delicious!!!

I like the bread idea, our church used to do that for new people. Or maybe just give them a nice jar of jelly or jam. One from a speciality store.
