I have family who believe so much in these apparitions....is there anything anywhere in the Bible that would possibly explain it? I think it's tricky because it always ends up for us to pray for peace and it seems like a good thing but something just feels off...however it makes me wonder if God would send us a message this way?

Those people are worshipping Mary. It has nothing to do with focusing on Jesus. Mary was just a person like you or I in that she has no savior qualities, nor "plans" for our nation. Because this whole shabang is a misrepresentation of scripture in gross terms, I can't see how it would be possible for God to communicate to us this way, especially when he communicates very clearly in the Bible itself. :hug

:hug thank you for answering, that's what I think too. It's very hard with family who believe that Mary was without sin and focus so much on her. Anything that takes away from Jesus alone seems wrong.

How about this passage:
Matthew 12:
38Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him, "Teacher, we want to see a miraculous sign from you."
39He answered, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
The death and resurrection of Jesus are our only sign. We walk by FAITH, not by sight. Those who require and chase after signs and wonders will be given over to what they desire, and they will be deceived by them.

My thoughts exactly! Why would an apparition of Mary appear? Have apparitions of any other "heroes of the faith" appeared? I have heard of angels appearing to people in times of crisis, but the only person I've heard of appearing to people is Jesus, and that was right after his resurrection, before He ascended into Heaven. In my opinion, to place such a high emphasis on Mary borders on goddess worship (which I have heard was the reason the Catholic church placed her in such a high position - to attract pagan goddess worshipers, but I have nothing to back it up...makes a little sense...).
I agree that people shouldn't be looking for signs. God speaks to us through Scripture, through friends and family (even strangers), and through circumstances. He doesn't need to communicate with an apparition of Mary.

I really like that quote - the death and resurrection...those who require and chase after signs and wonders will be given over...
Where is that from? Is that a paraphrase of scripture? I'd like to use that quote but would like to know who to attribute it to. Thanks!

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 2 Cor. 11:14

Well, good one, Pegmo! I love it! And thanks!:thumb
It's great because it was inspired by scripture - words of God's Truth and Wisdom.

I've read this scripture many many times, but today, (as the Word of God is alive), it spoke yet something more...."a wicked and ADULTEROUS generation..." The word ADULTEROUS stood out.... those seeking after anything else other than Jesus are commiting "adultery".
