Hi Everyone,
Let me start by saying I am not sure where to put this so I am trying here in this forum. I am starting this thread because I have a question about Night Terrors a friend's child is having. Let me give you all some background:
My friend's family ancestors are from Ireland and the Cherokee. They follow a lot of the old traditions of both cultures. They follow some of the pagan or witchcraft rituals as it pertains to farming. My friend says that within the last year she had thought about getting more heavily into the spells and "prayer" side as some of her family members are involved. However, she didn't because she believes in Jesus Christ and apparently a conversation she and I had months ago about how the Lord says we are not even to entertain sorcery, witchcraft etc. kept her from doing so. However, she has dreams where she can talk to her ancestors and sleepwalks, her mother has visions and her daughter (who is five years old), has been "talking" to someone she call Marco. Marco has now been appearing in her daughter's dreams. Marco is a child like the daughter (in the dreams and when they are "playing") but she is all black (and I do not mean of African descent). Her eyes, teeth, tongue, toenails are all black. Marco has been chasing the daughter in her dreams. The last two dreams are as follows:
The daughter was outside playing with her grandmother and her younger brother. The younger brother picked up sledgehammer and ran over to Marco who was standing behind the daughter and tried to hit Marco. The daughter told her brother that he is not supposed to hit other people and then Marco started chasing her and she woke up screaming. The next dream the daughter was in the car with her Mom, Dad and brother. Marco went up to her mother's window (she was driving) and starting smiling (almost taunting) and then sticking her tongue out at the Mom (my friend). The Mom got out of the car to beat it down and Marco ran around the car sticking its tongue out to everyone, then the daughter woke up. She ran to her Mom and said that she was scared and asked her Mom if it was real.
I told my friend that her and her husband need to start praying over their daughter. Am I right in this? Is this just normal childhood dreams or is this an attack on the family through the daughter? Need some help as I do not want to be an alarmist unnecessarily. :scratch

I'm sure others will have a better idea but in my honest opinion, it is a spiritual attack. It only takes a crack in the door for the spirits to get in. Even just "dabbling" for farming purposes is too much and is all demons need to get in. They do need to pray over and for their daughter, in the name of Christ. But I think it will only work if they are saved and true believers in Christ. If not, there is no light in the home and where there is no light, there is only darkness. Spiritual attacks are very real and probably more common than most even want to consider. I would have a heavy talk with my friend if she really wants this to end. They all need Christ in their life, regardless of who their ancestors are. We dont answer for our ancestors, but we answer for what we personally do. God bless! :pray

I have been a victim or night terrors for 40 years, it took prayer, a trust in Jesus that He will help me and remove them, and I asked many very faithful prayer warriors in my bible group to prayer for them to be removed.
That night, I had no more bad dreams-and I haven't had them since, and it simply amazes me every day that I think about it.....
it is amazing, they are gone.
He is God, He answers prayer to those who trust in Him.

These people need the full gospel and to come to repentant faith in Jesus Christ.
Give them this "good news".
They are messing with Satanic things.
There is no light in any of that.. only in Jesus.
The gospel is everything you can do for them. Pray that the Holy Spirit might convict them all.

Pray and fast - no eating. 24 hours (the parent+ adults, not the child) longer if God gives you the ability (get christian guidence for fasting as some in their zeal may hurt themselves).
If you are not saved: Fall on your knees - confess you are a sinner and ask Jesus to save you from your sins.
Believe Jesus will do this. Believe He died on the cross and paid your debt. Believe He rose on the 3rd Day and Lives evermore.
Then,
Pound on the door and ask Jesus for deliverance.

Oh, does that ever give me the shivers. Those dreams are more than dreams!
I pray you show them the path to salvation. Perhaps these dreams will show them how serious demons are. I've had dreams that were more than dreams, too. Having a saving faith in Jesus makes all the difference.
James 4:7-8 "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you..."
Oh, I just want to cry for that little girl! How horrifying!

Most children have nightmares at some point in their life. Night terrors are a bit more serious and can cause a lot of emotional and physical strain for parents and children. The child is frightened enough as it is. Telling her she's possessed and being attacked by demons in her sleep would probably make it worse. Has she been taken to a doctor for this? Night terrors are often the result of an undiagnosed medical problem, so this should be tended to ASAP.
On the other side of this whole story - what her family is dealing with is not good and they should be presented with the Gospel, but I don't believe it has much (if anything) to do with the child's night terrors.

Well, I'm not saying that you should tell the girl that she has a demon after her or that her dreams are possessed. That's way too much for a little girl to handle. Bring her family to a saving faith in Jesus Christ, let her know of Him - Who He is and that He loves her and the dreams, IMHO, will go away.
And check out the medical issue, if there is one, too.
