am i just being overly sensitive with the whole Lakeland thing, but does anyone else see just an explosion of the whole "an angel appeared to me" thing?
i remember when i first became a Christian in the early 80's, i read some book by a WOF'er that talked about angels. it was by a "Christian couple" Francis somebody, i remember the Happy Hunters, i think it was. anyway, i remember one night sitting in my bedroom and asking God for an angel to come and visit me.
i immediately felt the Holy Spirit's nudge that this was something i should not do. in fact, i went to my Bible and started reading about angelic appearing in the Scripture and read about angels that could come down and tell of some "different gospel".
it seems now that "prophets" are coming out of the woodwork claiming to hear from their "own angel". i find this very disturbing.
is there anywhere in Scripture that would validate this claim? i never want to "hinder" God from working in my life, but it seems to me that from Scripture we should not be going around "searching" to be touched by an angel......
