My brother's wife just got a new job and a guy she works with saw her last name and asked if she's any relation to me and so my brother called to ask me if I remember this kid from school and I said oh yeah, didnt' know him well but he seemed like a nice kid and my brother tells me the guy told her I was "mischeivous." What ever happened to if you cant say anything nice about somebody don't say anything? This isn't the only time someone has said something negative about me to my younger brothers....2 teachers did as well. Apparently I wasn't the quiet, shy kid I thought I was for the most part but instead a troublemaker or something. Anyhow am I being too sensitive? :scratch

Mischieveous: 1. maliciously or playfully annoying.
2. causing annoyance, harm, or trouble.
3. roguishly or slyly teasing, as a glance.
4. harmful or injurious.

Well if someone said that about me when I was in school I would probably just grin and say ohhhhhhhhhh yeah!! With a gleem in my eye!

It sounds like he was being "cute". Two bits to a dollar, he said it with a grin. :)

It could be worse. When hubby and I were separated, he helped me and the kids move into a trailer for rent. The owner's helper thought he knew me from school. He told my husband that I was a slut in school. Which considering I was a virgin when we got married and I was so naive that he had to tell me about sex so I would be prepared for marriage, he knew was a lie, but it still hurt to know this guy told this to all the people in the trailer park. The owner of the trailer park went to our Church and his wife always looked down on me. Somehow with all I was going through at the time, I never thought that she may have taken this clown seriously. Now I look back and realize she probably did think I was a bad girl in school. My parents were so strict that when hubby and I dated, my sister had to go with us:twitch and I was 18 at the time.:doh

I would just ignore what the guy said.

I have always considered being called "mischeivous" a compliment of the highest order!

I think most of the time people use this term it's not for negative reasons, it's like being called a "rascal," or something like that (as long as its said with a smile, of course!).

You were obviously just a fun gal to know! :hug

Thanks guys. I know I can be way too sensitive and I thought the word meant "devious" like in a bad way. I'll just take it as a compliment as well :thumb

Kelly, I've been too sensitive for my own good, at times. I got tired of having hurt feelings and the Lord has helped me to change my attitude. If I were in your shoes, I would choose not to be offended, even if he meant that he remembered you as being devious. It's just not worth getting upset over something like that. I do slip sometimes, but I find that I have much more peace when I choose not to let some of the thoughtless or even mean things that people sometimes say or do upset me. :hug

I wouldn't be upset. Sounds kinda like he remembered you in a good way. Maybe he had a crush on you?
