How does one interpret these verses...., it seems that in 2Peter....if you do not repent...you will perish. Does repentance mean a sinless life ....because if turning from sin completely were possible...we would not need a saviour....right..? Oh wretched man that i am....who will save me from the body of this death. Or....is repentance....accepting my innability to not sin...., and trusting and believing that Jesus sacrifice for me was enough to cover my sin...?

2Peter 3:9...
9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

With ...,

Mark 16:16
" He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.

and...,

Acts 2:21
'AND IT SHALL BE THAT EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.':thinking

What say ye' bretheren....., interpretations requested.

2 Peter 3:9--The Lord is patient to those who will be redeemed before He unleashes righteous judgment upon the earth. God receives His own. The unrepentant (rejecters of salvation in Jesus) go to hell. God desires repentance from the sinner. "All" would be those who WILL come to Christ.

Mark 16:16--Those who do not come to repentant faith are condemned.

Acts 2:21---Any who turn to Jesus in repentant faith will be saved, the rest, condemned-- all have unto the day of judgment.

Repentance is recognition of own complete sinfulness, unworthiness and utter inability to achieve any merit in the eyes of God and belief that Only through Jesus' death; shed blood, on the cross for our sins, paid the price in full for being looked upon with His gift of eternal life.

Our being in fellowship with the Lord consists of ongoing confession of sin, and growing in Him through the reading of His Word, Prayer, and fellowship with other believers.

Our sins were paid for in whole.

Repentance, as I understand it (from reading my Bible) is turning away from your sin within your heart.
Meaning sincerely trying to turn away from sin.
The crux is we are still in the flesh and do still sin, thats where Grace comes in to rescue us.

If we could live 100% sin free why on earth would Jesus have to be sacrificed
for us on the cross? Sins up to salvation one might say...
He saved us then knowing we would still mess up after salvation so that doesnt hold water.

What did the thief on the cross really repent of?
He repented in his heart and that is what saved him imo.
He simply ackowledged and believed that Jesus was His Lord and had a change of heart about needing a savior to have mercy on him.
Had he lived he would have certainly sinned more in his lifetime.
The difference I think is he no longer wanted to and would have tried not to.

I think we can get most of the sin out of our lives with Gods help, not to be saved (thats works based) but because we are really saved..

Yet there will always be inner sins like lust, jealousy, hate, PRIDE etc..that sometimes we may not even be aware of until the holy spirit convicts us.

If sin after salvation caused one to lose their salvation, who could be saved?

Peter denied even knowing Jesus 3 times and Jesus used him to build the 1st church. We know the stories of Davids sin with Uriahs wife and the others people in the bible who messed up.
All of them but Jesus.

Note that Peter and David repented of thier sin because they were true believers. Yet you can rest assured they still had sin in their lifes until the day they died.

What shall we say then, sin more that grace may abound?

Certainly not.

Anyone who thinks they are saved because they have no sin is not only mistaken but proud, which is a sin itself.

Can we be saved and NOT repent?
I dont think so, but repentance seems like a lifelong endeavor
not a one time deal.Imo Belief saved us but repentance follows that belief.
Some take longer than others...
All known sin should be confessed and repented of.

Others can explain it better, other would disagree.
Thats my attempt.
If Im wrong may The Lord reveal it to me on His Word.
These things are up to him, its also for Him to decide how much
mercy to give a backslider.
Luckily for me, He never gave up.

We gain much insight by reading the whole bible,
the message becomes more clear, what sometimes seem like contradictions fade away..

Praise You Lord for your mercy on me!
Please help me let it not be in vain.

"For whosoever shall call upon the Name of The Lord shall be saved."

We need not know the greek or be a scholar to know what that means.
Its true or it isnt.

If it isnt eat drink and be merry then die, it doesnt matter.

(I was going to post only a few words, sorry for the book.)

The repentance needed for salvation is recognizing that you're a sinner, and that you need salvation. It means recognizing that Jesus died for your sins and that He's offering you salvation. And then it means asking Jesus to forgive you and save you, etc.

For me the best way to grasp it is when a person is saved sin becomes the exception instead of the rule.:)

True.

Does repentance mean a sinless life

No.

....because if turning from sin completely were possible...we would not need a saviour....right..? Oh wretched man that i am....who will save me from the body of this death. Or....is repentance....accepting my innability to not sin...., and trusting and believing that Jesus sacrifice for me was enough to cover my sin...?

Repentance means to 'change your mind'. It's true meaning is given by the context it is given.

Men are justified before God when they believe, which will affect ones action(s). (to perfect, make complete)
