Todd Bentley and Contemplative Meditation

Source: Wolf Tracks (by a sheep who weeps)

LTRP Note: Many people have been inquiring about Todd Bentley and the "revival" that is taking place in Florida right now. The following information will show Bentley's spiritual resonance with a man named Sundar Singh (1829-1929). At one point in Bentley's ministry, he had a vision of Sundar Singh - this vision greatly influenced Bentley. According to a biographer of Sundar Singh, Singh spent much of his Christian life in deep trance-like states communicating with spiritual beings: :fear

We know he had long hours of meditation ... Also he had days of silence.... One day ... he was in the woods praying.... Suddenly his spiritual eyes were opened and he saw the glories of the spirit world. After that he had visions from time to time. Later on the visions came as often as ten or twelve times a month and he then had long talks with the beings of that world. 1

Todd Bentley and Contemplative Meditation

by Wolf Tracks (from a sheep who weeps)

Why would God give his children a vision of a contemplative who combined the East and West in his meditative disciplines? Is this where Todd Bentley's ideas about visions, spirituality, and 'soaking' prayer are coming from?

Has anyone ever heard of Todd Bentley’s strange vision? You can read about it here:

THE GLORY CLOUD OF REVELATION & PROPHETIC MANTLES - PART 2: CONCLUSION BY TODD BENTLEY, FRESH FIRE MINISTRIES 1

This is what he saw:
"...in a vision, the Glory Cloud of Revelation descending upon the church. It was also during this time of prayer that God took me in a vision to what I believed to be the Himalayan Mountains. I saw an Indian man with a turban on his head and heard the whisper of the Spirit say, "This is Sundar Singh. I am releasing anointing of revelation like this." I had no communication with this old saint, nor did he say anything to me. The experience lasted only a moment...."

And this is the revelation he learned from the man with a turban:

THE CHRISTIAN CONTEMPLATIVE TRADITION (LECTIO DIVINA)

Sundar Singh spent at least two hours daily in reading the Scriptures, meditation and prayer. He would arise at 5:00 am and finish by 7:00 or 8:00 depending on what his schedule was for the day. He often spent the whole day or night in prayer. His discipline was to read one chapter of the Bible, rapidly at first reading, then to return to reread passages or verses that were more suggestive to him. These he would linger with and meditate on for as long as it was fruitful for him to do so. Next, he would enter into a period of "recollection" for twenty minutes or so. This was a time of silence, in which he would allow the Lord to speak to him in some way. With his own mind and heart quieted, he opened his mind and his heart to hear what the Lord would have to say to him or just simply enjoy companionship with his Lord. Often this period of silence would extend into a deeper state called "contemplation" in which he enjoyed complete rest and refreshment in the love of God.

Often during times of contemplation, he entered into experiences of ecstasy. Click here to read this entire report::twitch

Sundar Singh's Universalist Beliefs:
However bad and evil-living a man may be, there is in man's nature a divine spark ... this spark of the divine is never extinguished ... If this divine spark or element cannot be destroyed, then we can never be hopeless for any sinner... The Creator Himself will not destroy it (man's soul)... even though many wander and go astray in the end, they will return to Him in Whose image they have been created; for this is their final destination. I watched the video of the Lakeland Revival on GodTube (the link is included on the sleepyweepy site).

What a performance by Bentley. And so obviously bogus. Most of the people who are there are caught up in emotions and believe that Bentley is "of God".

I have been in many Charismatic meetings and notice that high emotion is a substitute for God's presence. The preacher can say anything he/she wants because the emotions cover up a lot of satanic manifestations.

Todd Bentley the Highly Inaccurate "Prophet"

The Lakeland Healing "Revival" is in full tilt BUT Todd Bentley is a false prophet.

How do we know?

We know this because the Bible is clear that a true Prophet of God is always 100% correct.

God doesn't grade Prophets on the curve.

Either God is speaking to you or He isn't. Here is the Biblical test of a prophet:

Deut. 18:21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the LORD has not spoken?’—

22 when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.

Below is a video that provides us with IRREFUTABLE proof that Bentley is a FALSE PROPHET. Pay close attention to how accurate his 'readings' are.

Remember a true Prophet of the One True God MUST, according to the scriptures, be 100% accurate.

By the way, what is the Old Testament punishment for false prophets in the Kingdom of Israel? Here is what the scriptures say:

Deut. 18:20 But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’

People need to heed the warnings of scripture.

Matthew 7:15: “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.

Matthew 24:11: And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.

Matthew 24:24: For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.

Lakeland Deception!

Published May 8th, 2008 by Editor in Abominations, Apostasy, False Prophets, False Teachers

A Little Leaven is reporting on evidence that they’ve uncovered that definitively demonstrates that Todd Bentley

ring leader of the so-called Lakeland Revival is a FALSE prophet.

We feel very strongly that we should warn people about this event and movement.

It may be a move of the ’spirit’ but it is clearly not a move of the Holy Spirit.

Final Trumpet

If you’ve been watching the news on "Christian Television" in the past couple of weeks, you could not have missed the glowing reports of a "revival" breaking out in Lakeland, Florida. It is headed up by a certified false prophet/teacher by the name of Todd Bentley, one of the guys from the infamous Elijah List, an umbrella group that markets all the bogus "prophetic" junk their many seers sell. Many of these forerunners for the antichrist are heralding this outbreak as the much-touted outpouring of the latter rain. {If you think I'm speaking harshly, keep reading to understand why I can't mince words.}

Sadly, this circus show featuring an "illustrated man" is now on the road and targets young people and new believers who are not armed with a knowledge of Scripture so they are sitting ducks for deception. The crowds following Bentley are seen being overcome by ugly spirits of drunkenness and stupor. Those in the church who are crying out against this injustice perpetrated upon our weakest little lambs are being squelched by the "Christian" media, since those in control of the airwaves suppress the truth in unrighteousness. And any otherwise solid ministries that buy airtime on networks such as TBN and the God Channel shut up their own mouths for fear of biting the hand that feeds them and getting their programs tossed.

So that leaves the Internet – the only place you’ll see any opposition to the madness. I hate using an analogy from the worst contemporary "Christian" song that gets sung in churches on Sunday mornings, but as most of the church waltzes with this injustice, we need to break-dance upon it instead. Better yet – we need to stomp on it and pull down this stronghold that has come against the bride of Christ.

Final Trumpet do you have the links to these two? I would like to send them to someone who is interested in going to Lakeland. I want proof of what I have been saying. Also, do you know of a link where Todd is talking about Emma. Thank you and Blessings. :hug

Scripture completely exposes Bentley for who he is: a wolf in sheep's clothing.

If the glory and Spirit of God actually was present at the revival, there wouldn't be any theatrics, tricks, or "Bam! Bam!" silliness. People would be on their faces in repentance to the Almighty God.

The alien abduction sequence really shows the fear that is a consequence of toying with demons. IMO it is too graphic for children to watch.
