We have started having date night once every week or so. :poke

To be fair I agreed to take turns choosing the movie. :hanging:

As you can imagine I pick War, Western, or Action movies while she picks, generally speaking...chick flicks...or romance stuff. :idunno

Fair enough I think, Ill suffer through them out of love for her.:super

But last month she picked this movie called....well..I dont remember what the name of the stupid movie was it was the worst thing Ive ever seen in my entire life.
I probably blocked the name of it out of my mind out of self preservation because I was so traumatized. :gaah

My point is this, Im reluctantly ok with Romance movies...especially if there is a battle scene.

So if any of you guys have date nights too and happen to watch a Romance flick that isnt completely unwatchable please post it here so I can persuade her to see that instead of the type of (censured) I suffered through last time.
Likewise if you watch a movie to avoid warn the other guys.

Also, sometimes we do other things for a date but there arent many options.
If you have something cool to do on a date let me know.
We raised 3 kids and sort of put us on hold for 15 years.

You may have good luck with Romantic Comedies. Maybe some old Musicals.

I called my wife to find out the name of this bomb.

Its "Made of Honor".

Whatever you do DO NOT watch it, not even for free.
Not even if she pays you to watch it.

Notice it has 12% even on Rotten Tomatoes:

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/made_of_honor/

"The fact that this is not in any way original isn't really much of a problem. The fact that it's completely awful is. "

"...derivative drivel, despite Michelle Monaghan's beauty and talent. "

"Another dreary and predictable romantic comedy centered around a wedding. "

"Made of Honour, as well as flaunting one of the most useless titular puns in the history of cinema, is rubbish."

So she suffers through western and action and you suffer through chick ficks. This is called marriage, compromise. This is what we do and I hate action movies, but I suffer and they (the guys) suffer through mine. Goes both ways.

It's funny you bring this up. :lol2

I must be one of the few women who doesn't like chick flicks, except on the rare occasion. In fact we were, supposed, to go out tonight for our date night and I suggested Hell Boy! :aha I really want to see that movie.

Are there any chick flicks out right now? :thinking

We did watch a pretty good movie that my husband rented, Another Boleyn Girl. It was actually pretty good. It had Natalie Portman, Scarlet Johansen, and I don't remember the guy who played King Henry, but he was really cute. Anyway, it has people getting their heads chopped off, so you might like it. :heh

Is it bad that I enjoy most chick flicks

when picking out movies, I usually let her pick it. Even when we each pick a film...I pick one she would want to watch :doh

Though I did make her sit through The Unusual Suspect... :popcorn
