Denomination to ordain 'non-celibate' homosexuals

The executive director of the Presbyterian Lay Committee says the recent meeting of the Presbyterian Church (USA) highlighted a disregard for historic Reformed standards and a failure to glorify Jesus Christ.

During its recent meeting in San Jose, California, the highest governing body of the PCUSA voted in favor of a proposal that would allow for the ordination of non-celibate homosexual men and women. The General Assembly also initiated a process to revise the Heidelberg Catechism to delete the Bible's prohibition against homosexuality.

Charles Burge is executive director of the Presbyterian Lay committee, a conservative group, which publishes The Layman. He says it is clear that the PCUSA has lost its biblical moorings, and that there are several actions for congregations to take. "Some churches and presbyteries are looking for ways to get out of the denomination," he details.

"Some churches are looking to withhold per capita giving from the denomination, essentially refusing to fund any denominational activities, and are redirecting their giving to missions [with] which they are familiar and which they trust," Burge explains. Unless the PCUSA reverses course, he says, it is in danger of extinction.

People also seem to forget that one of Satan's goals is to divide churches as well.

As for all the other wicked and unbelievers-he doesn't even mess with them anymore for the reason being he's already won them over. OTOH-Satan will do everything in his power to divide(and conquer) the believers.

Especially things like this and also the likes of Rick Warren's teachings making it through a good number of pulpits nowdays-I truely believe we're in the end times.

PresUSA left the teachings of Christ and the Bible a long time ago now. It's like watching a Jerry Springer show with them to see what new thing they are going to do to create outrage or controversy.

Dad used to be methodist and mom used to be Catholic. They didn't switch until they were in their thirties.

Presbyterian Church USA is much different than the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). The PCA is very conservative and very biblical. It is unfortunate that the "Presbyterian" name is being damaged by the PC-USA.

I love how these people so arrogantly assume that they can "initiate a process ... to delete the Bible's prohibition against homosexuality".

Oh Lord Jesus, please come quickly!

What was it that Satan said in the Garden?

For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. - Gen. 3:5

Same scheme, different application. When man starts taking out parts of the Bible they find offensive or can't "morally" agree with, they are, in effect, acting as gods. They are knowing "good and evil", at least in their own unrepentant, sinful minds.

Oh, and this is absolutely heresy and I pray for their eternal souls.

God bless.
