It must have been a very significant threat. Political figures must get these types of threat all the time.

It must have been a very significant threat. Political figures must get these types of threat all the time.

According to FoxNews it was 'pinpointed'.

On Tuesday, Mideast envoy Tony Blair called off what would have been the first visit of a top Western diplomat to Hamas-ruled Gaza, after Israel's Shin Bet security service received "pinpointed and imminent" intelligence that there was going to be an assassination attempt on his life.

The Shin Bet security service said it had received "information that Palestinians were planning to attack Blair in Gaza, so the relevant services alerted him to the fact."

They say the information about the attack was "detailed and credible." Militants planned to attack Blair's convey with explosives while he was traveling in Gaza.

No, it won't affect Obama's trip. They LOVE him and want him to get elected. They have no intention of blowing up one of their own who's undercover. He's their foot in the door to the Whitehouse and taking over America. :faint

How horrible would it had been if we read the headline that Tony Blair was assassinated in the Gaza Strip? I know he is not the most beloved figure in the world, but that would be horrible.

I was wondering this very same thing. It will be interesting to see how he is received in the West Bank next week. I did not see Israel on his list of travels.

I imagine they'll roll out the red carpet and have a banquet. He won't have a worry in the world for his safety. :ohno

Could you imagine if McCain went there? He would have to wear Dragon Skin body armor, roll him in bubble wrap, and surround him with Secret Service men to keep him safe. Sad, but true. :aha
