I'm a new member as of yesterday. I've been a regular lurker for several years and decided to join and interact periodically when I feel compelled.
I live in Saint Paul Minnesota, which will be hosting the RNC in the next month and a half so I'm a little worried about my community being a target for the average protestors as well as evildoers.
I'm a new homeowner and married 4 years ago in April so I'm concerned about the normal things someone would be about owning a home and starting a family in this interesting period in world history. Isn't there a saying or wish about NOT living in 'interesting' times???LOL
I'm also a vet and suffering from disappointment in the direction our country has been going over the years. I was raised a Regan conservative and if one had to label me today I'd say I'm probably a Libertarian. I basically believe in very limited government and leaving people alone and being tolerant. However it is human nature to want to make or force people to do what we want them to do.
I'm a former RC. It is very thick in pockets within my family so I pretty much observe and interject different perspectives when appropriate. I don't want to interfere with any one person and their God given free will. I strongly believe that confrontation is not the way to spread the gospel. In short, my Jesus is not Rambo. With that I also believe that the truth and answers we seek are not just in the good book, but all around us and in each and everyone of us.
Well that's about it. Thank you for letting me be a part of your community.
God bless everyone,
Yas
