I am reading the pre-quel to Left Behind- The Rising. Is anyone else reading this? I'm having a very hard time getting through it. It is so spiritually dark. The spiritual battle is overwhelming. I'm a little more than half way through it, but I can honestly say I'm ready to be done with it. I want to read it, to know the full story, but- it's actually effecting my sleep. It is a good book. Just disturbing, spiritually.

is that the first or the second book out of the prequels? I had a hard time with the first prequel but they get better the closer they get to the Rapture.

I've read it too and boy did I not want to read some of the parts in it. Very dark!! I wanted to know the background and whatnot but it was really hard to get through some of those parts!

Yep, that one was certainly disturbing. Reading it bothered me, too, but it really showcases the writing ability of the authors have to be able to so tangibly create that feeling.
The good news is that "The Regime", the next prequel book, isn't as dark...and "The Rapture" is a really uplifting read...it focuses on Irene and Raymie and what happens to them after being raptured (all good, of course!)

I've actually already read The Rapture. Now that book- wow! I had to put it down at certain points, because I would get so excited! Just thinking about it! And I know there is NO WAY we can know what it will REMOTELY be like! But just the description! I get chillibumps just thinking about it.
But yes, Smilinnow, I do agree- it does show the talent of the authors. It's just so disturbing. But obviously, the spiritual darkness is a reality of the antichrist. Just really hard to read in places.

I've read them all and felt they had to be that dark spiritually. We're talking satan and the anti-christ (I refuse to use caps cause they don't deserve it even if it's a proper name).
Evil is dark. It's seductive, insidious and sometimes in your face.
