I took notice that Egypt is mentioned a lot throughout the Bible and may even be part of the end times. What is this significance if any?

Egypt can be understood in symbolic language as the representation of worldliness, or religious whoredom and idolatry. If you read Hebrews 11 and Revelation 11, you'll see how God's people are to be contrasted with those in Egypt.

Well, I read and re-read both Hebrews 11 and Revelation 11 and fail to see any symbolic use of Egypt. But I did see a literal use, particularly in Hebrews 11.

The word "Egypt" isn't used symbolically in Hebrews 11, but it is used that way in Revelation 11. Jerusalem is called spiritual Egypt. This is because of their continued bondage to sin since the Jews had not accepted their Savior who releases all from that bondage.
Egypt is the symbol of bondage and impotence since that is where Israel was held helpless in bondage just as we all have been held helpless in bondage to sin.

It seems to me that Egypt has a tough time making up their minds about Israel and God's people. First they allowed Joseph's family to live there and prosper, then a pharaoh who didn't know of Joseph enslaved them. Then the pharaoh agreed to let them go, then chased them to the Red Sea. They they allowed Joseph, Mary and Jesus to live there until Herod was dead. Then they attacked them in 1948, 67 (Straits of Tiran closed) and 73, then they were the first to sign a piece treaty with them in 79, then they condemned the building of the wall, then built one themselves to keep out the so called Palestinians.
