Here in Seattle we are still in utter shock. I grew up watching Gus Williams, Downtown Freddie Brown, etc. What a loss!

I think everyone here in Seattle immediately knew that Howard Schultz, our former owner, made a mistake when he sold the team to a group of people that were not established in our state. We could all see the potential for this to happen. It is so unfortunate.

Anyway, I wish the best for Oklahoma. They are the new owners of a fantastic team, no matter what team name they choose.

Spending 5 years in the Seattle area, I think of the Sonic's as traitors just like I do the Houston Orliers.

Actually, I am glad they left town. IMHO, the NBA is nothing but a bunch of thugs and criminals. And the National Felon League is catching up quickly. I am glad the bad influence on our kids has left town.

I'd vote for Bisons or Marshalls as they are names geographically appropriate for Oklahoma City.

As an aside, I love team logos and uniforms. I have often wished that I had the artistic skill to draw and create uniforms and logos--especially for football teams. In my head I have the concept of an NFL team called the "Bombers" with a WW2 era fighter plane on the side of the helmet--similar to the logo used by the Houston Aeros hockey team with the "mouth full of teeth" painted on the nose of the airplane. This is different than the Baltimore Bombers that were an NFL expansion candidate in 1993.

What about an NFL team the Iowa Scarecrows? Picture the head of a scarecrow on the side of the helmet--kind of like the Wizard of Oz scarecrow only much more angry looking. The team colors would be green, orange, and black.

I'd better stop here. Sorry if I hi-jacked the thread.

I was leaning towards the Thunders, but I recently saw an article how bisons are making a comeback from near extinction. I think that this is a pretty cool story, so I vote for the Bisons. :)

I agree with you. Houston Rockets just signed a player that he has been in out of trouble since he first went pro. What other job can you keep playing and try to choke your boss? (another player but the point is sports players for the most part or just like you said thugs and criminals.

It was "leaked" from one of our news channels that it is going to be "thunder".
Personally I would prefer "twisters" or "tornadoes"
