We started last week. I want to do a Monday thru Thursday full day thing and then have Fridays as our 'review' days as well as spelling test day. I will consider Friday's as half days, unless it gets too confusing trying to add all the days up. :lol2
We've been sick the past few days so not as much school.
I spent way too much at the Education store, but I have a nice supply of language arts stuff my son needs more practice with. :thumb
Our public schools don't start here until August 20th so we are a good few weeks ahead.

Cookies4me: I understand the video game thing...I've got one who would play 24/7 IF I would let him! The beach sounds good...but we're landlocked around here!
KBKMNN: I've never tried the 4 day week but it sounds like a good idea. Good for you in already starting. Last year, we waited until the 2nd week of September and didn't finish up until the end of June. The children want to be out in May just like all of their friends this next year.
I was getting my daughter set up for her online high school and they didn't show her registered. Funny, but I remember writing a fairly substantial check.:thinking But a phone call straightened everything out. It's a pretty rigorous schedule...no breaks until the week of Thanksgiving and then three weeks at Christmas and then no breaks until we finish up in May.:thumb We are trying something new this year...daughter gets help in the morning and son gets help in the afternoon. I've always struggled with them needing help at the same time.:fear I'm so excited this year for some reason and can hardly wait!

Wow! Ya'll are starting early. My girls start their co-op classes on Aug. 18, and we'll begin our unit study after Labor Day.
I did get the girls registered for their classes, and got them into everything I signed up for, so that's good. My oldest is taking all her core classes at the co-op, but my youngest is only taking two classes and one fun activity, tap and jazz. We'll be doing two days of co-op classes and the other three days we'll be doing our unit study in ancient history.

We are going to ease back into school. I am going to start after Labor Day with History then the next week Math and so forth. Each week we add a new subject. I like to go slow starting back. I've been helping DH with a BIG cabinet job this summer so I'll still be needing to help him in the shop.
I also decided to do history Monday and Wednesday and science Tuesday and Thursday. I have our year all planned out. I got very off track midway last year.

I just got my unit study in the mail today. :yeah
It was sent media mail and took 12 days to get here from AZ. :tsk
Anyway, I'm really glad I got it, and can't wait to start. My daughter loves doing hands on learning, so she's going to love this.

NWO: that would be your unit study in ancient history??? History is one of my favorites. My son likes it too...he thinks he would like to be a history teacher someday.
DebJo: I like your approach of easing back into it...sounds very common sensical with your situation.

Yes, that's the one. We're using Learning Adventures: Another World of Adventure. It covers ancient history from Egypt all the way to the early explorers.
