Does anyone believe this applies to the Church today?
1 Cor 12:28 NIV
And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles,
second prophets,
third teachers,
then workers of miracles,
also those having gifts of healing,
those able to help others,
those with gifts of administration,
and those speaking in different kinds of tongues.

It is difficult to discuss them all in a single thread, but I'm just wondering whether people here believe that some still apply, all apply, or none apply today.

My question would be rather, Why would they not apply?

My friend did a thorough study of I&II Cor.,and He said as the books progress, you can see the transition from the early church in Acts(remission of sin,Kingdom of Heaven, sign Gifts,Faith and works)to the present day church in the latter half of Acts(Redemtion from sin,Kingdom of God,sign gifts decreasing,Grace through faith). You can also see the differences in the book of Romans as Paul is laying the groundwork of sin and the penalty, and then progresses to this Dispensational Truth. :rolleyes

For the same reasons prophets no longer call down fire from the sky and part seas - because God works different ways in different times.

I believe we need to take an 'all or none' approach - if one applies, then they all apply!

There are two coming who will perform just as great signs and wonders of the power of God as the old testament prophets.
They all still apply.

viz... "different times and different ways."

Of course they all apply today-but the Word distinguished between Spiritual Gifts and appointments in the church. Mostly I've noticed that churches who do not preach the Truth of the Holy Spirit baptism (with speaking in tongues as iniitial evidence) do not have the gifts moving in their churches.

Does anyone here know what being "slained in the Spirit" means and why it is taught in church?
