If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it...
About 3 days ago, I tried logging on to My Yahoo from favorites for my e-mail.
I got the "Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Webpage". I tried the network diagnosis; couldn't log on...
I AM connected to the internet (I'm writing this)...I called my provider and they ran tests: No Problems there...I can go to various websites with no problem BUT I can't log onto my web banking site, my e-mail site and my wife can't connect to MSN at all.
I have Windows XP with Verizon security system (tested with no problems). Is this an issue with Microsoft? I called Microsoft and they want $50.00 to analyze the problem...Is there something I can do??
Right now, I wish I was a "computer geek" (respectfully)!!!
Thanks.

Have you tried it in another browser like Firefox or Opera?

Using IE--Try resetting the security by doing the following:

In IE---Tools--Internet Options---click on Security Tab--for each of the four zones, click on Default level--click on ok and exit IE.

If that doesn't work then try the next line as the last option, ok.

In IE---Tools--Internet Options---click on Advanced Tab--click on Restore Advanced Settings

Have your internet security and or privacy settings been changed recently? (Whoops! Just saw the post above!)

Have you tried typing the addresses manually? Your "Favorites" links may have become corrupted.:idunno

You could also try Internet Options - General tab - Browsing History - Delete all. Exit IE and restart IE.

Try a re-boot (I re-boot about once a week whether I need to or not!):)

The above are just some real basic stuff/things to try if you haven't already. :scratch

I need more detail to help anymore than what I've suggested so far.

Also go to trend micro's site at http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/ and click on the HouseCall free scan link and follow the prompts.

Another thing to use for free is an anti-virus program called AVG at http://free.avg.com/

By clicking this (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/)

'Tis free, and it's a lot more secure than IE. Whether you get the same problem using IE or Firefox will go a long way towards helping pin down the source of your problem.

Thank you so much! It's installed. Now to test it out...I'll get back to you.
By the way, others on RR have said they are having the same problem I have been having!!!!!

Pacman wins! It worked perfectly.
Thank you!
From what I am hearing, others are having a similar problem with Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Thanks again, Pacman...you're THE MAN!:thumb
