I am hoping to find some fellow believers in this area. I am moving there from AZ in 3 weeks and I don't know anyone. I am so scared and need to not only sell my home in Az but I need to find a rental in springfield and find a sitter for my 14 month old so I am totally shocked and unprepared for this move. (dh got a job transfer)

I don't live there, but have been there. I loved it. Very green and beautiful! You are lucky to be moving there! I think you'll find the people friendly and helpful, and that it's a very family-friendly place! That was my impression, anyway.

Congratulations! I'd much rather live there than in Arizona, but that's just me! :)

I lived in Springfield up untill about 4 yrs. ago.
And then only moved 14 miles east.
I have lived in the Springfield area all of my life
Why rent? You are going to be Very surprised at the
housing prices here.
What company does your DH work for if I may ask.

I have family in the Springfield area, I grew up about 20 minutes outside of Springfield. My mother, my younger sisters, and an older brother all live in the area. Along with several cousins & their families & friends. The housing market is good, look into some of the out laying areas of Springfield as well for a home. There are a lot of nice places to choose from. Nixa, Republic, Strafford, Buffalo, Clever, Billings all these places I listed are with in a reasonable drive of Springfield.

Also All of the States highest rated schools are located in this part
of the state.
Those would be Nixa, Ozark, Rogersville, Republic, Strafford:nod

We live a couple of hours away from Springfield, and it is a nice small to mid-size city with anything you could ever want or need (good quality medical care, plenty of churches, good shopping, and several colleges/universities right in town).
We go there fairly often. They do have a lot of bad weather in the winter time, so be prepared (but not fearful) of that. The MoDot (Missouri Dept. of Transportation) does a great job of caring for the roads around here. I think you'll like the Springfield area and wish you and your family the very best as you prepare for your move to the 'Show Me' state. :hat
