S.F. mayor proposes fines for unsorted trash
Garbage collectors would inspect San Francisco residents' trash to make sure pizza crusts aren't mixed in with chip bags or wine bottles under a proposal by Mayor Gavin Newsom. And if residents or businesses don't separate the coffee grounds from the newspapers, they would face fines of up to $1,000 and eventually could have their garbage service stopped.
The plan to require proper sorting of refuse would be the nation's first mandatory recycling and composting law...

The program is designed to limit the amount of food and foliage that goes into the city-contracted landfill in Alameda County, where the refuse takes up costly space and decomposes to form methane, one of the most potent of greenhouse gases. It will also help San Francisco, which city officials say currently diverts 70 percent of its waste from landfills, achieve a goal set by the Board of Supervisors to divert 75 percent by 2010 and have zero waste by 2020.

Ah, anything for "global warming"! :rolls

What can you say, nothing SF does these days surprises me any more, but along with everyone else, makes me thankful to the Most High that I don't live there.

To find out, all of our efforts to slow the global warming is for not.
And trying to stop it would be hazardous to the planet as it's going through a normal cycle.

It's all over the talk radio stations out here.
San Francisco - especially Gavin Newsome - will make laws regarding sorting trash - but they won't do anything about the illegal alien gang members killing off American citizens (3 members of the Bologna family).
That is one wacky area of the country.

I think they should tax Pelosi! Her "hot air" is probably resposible for at least 1 degree of global warming!

Sorry Mods please remove if you feel neccesary, move to controversial issues, or whatever you deem appropriate, but I feel I need to once again respond.
I came here because I believe the same thing everyone else does: that Jesus Christ died for our sins on the cross, and saved us by sacrificing himself, and someday soon he will come and Rapture us all away, and we wont even have to worry about SF anymore. So why worry now? Let God take care of SF, and just pray for those who do ungodly things.
I think I will not READ anything anyone has to say about SF anymore. In fact I know I wont. I agree, SF is an immoral, repulsive, sin city! That fact is right on the money...
But it breaks my heart every time I do read something on SF on this site. And as a matter of fact, it is ONLY on this site that I have to defend my State and hometown. I dont 'see' any loving Christian responses about SF at all here.
How about a little bit of, "I pray for our brothers and sisters who have to live there." "Lets all pray for these lost souls in SF" None of that, ever. Just SF bashing, and yes Im being over reactive, but I cant help it. Im done, Im tired of reading it.
I pray everyday for the people I see doing ugly things in my area of California...why cant you? Prayer is more powerful than verbal assaults.
And btw to whomever said "I thank The Lord every day that I dont have to live there", I thank The Lord EVERYDAY, that I have some place to live. It just happens to be here.
Thank you for your time.
