I was helping my daughter with her daily Bible study today and this passage gave me a lot to think about the rest of the day. I explained to her that we need to find the point of the picture drawn with Words of Jesus. We read through this together and I was amazed, the parable was all the more clear.

If you guy's have already gone over this, forgive me, I haven't been on this site for a while.

Matthew 22:1-14 And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said, The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage. But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them. But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen.

It's very clear, you must have a wedding garment to be chosen. You must put on Jesus' righteousness to be part of the marriage ceremony. This is the requirement of salvation. We must depend on Christ's righteousness for our eternal life. God does not just choose randomly who will be saved. Those that are wearing Christs righteousness received through salvation in Christ are chosen.

How can one tell if he/she is wearing Jesus's righteousness?

There's only one way. You have to be a born-again child of God. Jesus has to be living in your heart. If He does, then you're wearing His righteousness; it covers you so that God can accept you.

Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

It seems he is implying that the woman is not saved if she is fretting...is that correct? B/c she is not comforted by God in this manner.....?

Some may wonder why the King would throw out this person who didn't have on the right clothes--didn't he say "go find the bad and the good" in this parable..so you'd get all kinds, literally..so where does one get the clothes for this wedding?
Check out Isaiah 61:10 (KJV) "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels."
As many on this board know, weddings were a really big deal then and especially if the KING was throwing the wedding party. The king would want everyone there to see is Son's wedding but if someone was poor and couldn't buy new clothes, the King would provide them, at least as I understand it.
