I was finishing up Grant Jeffrey's book, "The Next World War" and the last chapter is all about the Temple in the Tribulation and how it will be rebuilt, etc. Anyway, he quotes something interesting from a Jewish historian that I had not considered. While it is not doctrine, per se, it is a rather interesting allusion. I am going to type it in verbatim...
The Next World War
pg 159, paragraph 1
In 1948, Israel's chief rabbi ruled that, with the establishment of the Jewish state and the ingathering of the exiles, "the age of redemption" had begun. Today many of Israel's religious leaders are convinced that the Jews' repeated victories over Arab enemies have taken Judaism well beyond that point. Says historian Israel Eldad, "We are at the stage where David was when he liberated Jerusalem; from that time until the construction of the Temple of Solomon, only one generation passed, so will it be with us"
Interesting insight to the historical and possibly prophetic picture of the Temple. Just another reminder of how close we are as Israel seems to be getting closer and closer to crying out "Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the LORD"...

I think it is noteworthy of how many[I] different peoples are looking for a culmination of things all at about the same time. Of course we know exactly Who we are looking for and the Jews have an idea as well (aren't [I]they in for a surprise!) and the muslims(they are too!). The Mayans had their thinking on the matter as well. But for so many to be sensing the end of the age, and at the same time, is a little too much to be just coincidence.
There is so much anticipation. I just keep hoping and praying...

That is a very interesting analogy: warrior David/Israel generation followed by temple-building generation.
I think they have some more victories to accomplish before rebuilding a temple, however (see Psalm 83).

See under my name? It was a parable that the "budding of the fig" that shall not pass. So when that was stated the fig is detailed by being Israel becoming a Nation. 1948 is a very important year. Because its Gods timepiece. I dont think we are given wizdom enough to know the hour, day, week, months, but we are given the "Season". which is a general period in this generation to which the most important parts of human history are about to unfold. The rapture, Gog/Magog, Tribulation, AC, Armegeddon.... We know a generation is around 60-75 years right? But to think sooooo many things are in the here & now than anytime in history, like, Iran/Russia being buddies, never until last few years. So we KNOW its the season. Im so glad God has given this knowledge!

Thanks for posting this G4G. Grant Jeffrey is a great teacher. :thumb
Going back to the OP quote, if you go to the Temple Mount Faithful newsletter and view it in PDF format you will see that Gershon Salomon also says that this is the generation to fulfill the redemptive process and the building of the Third Temple. The TMF group is the Orthodox Jews who do not believe in Jesus and they are also in agreement with the Temple Institute. I truly believe that this is the generation and that it is quite interesting that the Jews and the church are both expecting the end times to be fulfilled soon according to what the Bible says. That is very interesting. I think we are the generation. :thumb
ETA: I just went to the TMF website and this is what the newsletter says:
http://www.templemountfaithful.org/Newsletters/5767-2007.pdf
The goal of the Temple Mount Faithful is the building of the Third Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem in our lifetime in accordance with the Word of G–d and all the Hebrew prophets and the liberation of the Temple Mount from Arab (Islamic) occupation so that it may be consecrated to the Name of G–d. This will open the gate for the coming of Mashiach ben David to the Temple in Jerusalem and for the godly cause of the Temple Mount Faithful Movement to make Israel a Biblical nation with a Biblical mission and “a holy nation, a kingdom of priests and a treasure among the nations” exactly as the G–d of Israel decreed her to be (Exodus 19: 5-6) and for the Movement’s end-time mission to establish the Kingdom of the G–d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in Israel and all over the world.
I think we are really close. :yeah

This is a little off topic (sorry) but on the way home tonight after getting a bite to eat I noticed the clouds in the west and pointed them out to my husband. We've talked about this too, on other threads. It was just incredible. I wish I'd had my camera with me. It looked like a grapevine with the fruit ready to be picked. There was a straight line with triangular shaped clouds, looking like they were hanging from the straight line of clouds and the triangular shaped clouds were all bundled like grapes. I pointed it out to my husband and said, "It's time for the harvest!"
Man, I just get so excited. Whoo! :yeah

I was watching a documentary type show on tbn the other night and Grant Jeffrey was one of the speakers. (about the only time I watch tbn is this type of show or some of their movies). Anyhoos, they were talking about the ark and the temple and one of the speakers and I don't remember which one said they have everything in place where they could set up the tabernacle within a week. I have to think that if they have this much accomplished, it is just a matter of when the walls start going up. I figure that once they actually start the building process, it will go very very fast.
