Can the bad side hear our prayers to God too? Are there any Bible references for this type of thing?

Can the bad side hear our prayers to God too? I assume so, though they would need to be present to hear them.

Are there any Bible references for this type of thing?I dont think so.

God only is Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent. He alone can read your thoughts and know your heart. That said, the Book of Job presents Satan asking to cause very bad things to God's servant Job. He is given permission by God to do only so much. The reason I mention Job is to show that Satan's power is only by God's permissive will. We can choose to pray to God silently or not. It doesn't matter if the enemy hears us because He still must receive God's permission to touch us, unless we are in a state of sinfulness, and we have given him the right to harass us. If we place our trust in the Lord, whether Satan buffets us or not isn't the issue. The issue is that God is greater and will always be taking care of us. We cannot experience anything that He ultimately won't use for our good.

Where is this in Scripture?

What upsets me the most is when I'm spiritually attacked WHILE praying. Makes me pray harder still.

When we sin and have not repented, we are living apart from God. We become fair game. Best to keep short accounts.

We believers are indwelt with the Holy Spirit regardless of our "sin," and Jesus is with us regardless of our "sin." Once we are His, He is always with us; we don't become fair game unless the Lord Himself allows it. They have no right to harass believers, we are bought and paid for even when we slip.

I for one think the other side can hear us if we pray out loud...and they can also impact those around us who are not saved, and I believe can impact a situation; so if there is something I want to say out loud that I don't want an enemy to hear, I pray about it first to God and ask Him to do specific things, and that His will be done on any eavesdropping "ears."

Yes, Kliska, once we are his we are his. That doesn't change. But when we are in a state of sin and have not confessed and repented we are in a place of rebellion. Satan loves a Christian who has broken the fellowship with God and has often used that time to mess up our lives. I look at my own life as an example. I still belong to my Lord but if I don't come to Him in repentance, then oftentimes I am open to the enemy as the consequences. That is why I try not to go very long without coming to the throne of grace.

The reason I ask is because I had prayed to God about what He wanted me to do about a matter and I had not told anyone about it. This man named Bill I used to believe was my friend who really wasn't, seemed to just blurt out the answer to the prayer even though he didn't know I had been praying about it. This is the same Bill from that other thread and the whole matter has been on my mind a bit because I believed it came from God when it happened, although I was kind of stunned somewhat. So, I am like if it really came from God, then at least something I believed during that time was real. I want to know what was real. I know God is real of course. But so much happened during that 6 months and I keep wondering what was real. So, how do I know for sure it came from God and that the dark side didn't overhear my prayers and it wasn't some kind of trick to sucker me into believing everything that Bill said? I really want to believe it came from God and at least that was real. I was tricked for 6 months into thinking I had a friend who cared about me, who wanted to talk about God and the Bible with me. So how do I find out for sure it came from God? No person/human was present when I prayed about this matter.

After Bill said that I asked him what he just said or something to that effect and he said something to the effect of it had been put into his spirit or the Holy Spirit had told him, and I was surprised by it all of course.

Well, I'd take it all back to God, and just tell Him your thoughts, He knows already of course, but it is an act of faith. Ask Him to clarify, or confirm. Also, remember hold up whatever Bill said to scripture and see if it contradicts or lines up.
