TT, you are correct that the russians have numbers as part of their strategy,

But generally their equippment is pretty good. It's their exports that stink - as well as the china knock-offs. Also the tactics that the soviets employ is what really hamstrings them.
However China has numbers -Big Numbers: picture every soldier in some kind of robot tank suit.......more than meets the eyes? :lol2

Yet even Israel has utilized the hulls of old russian tanks to make one of the best APCs - the Achzirit.

I am reminded that most APC-IFVs are made of aluminum or composits. They generally burn when hit by an HE tank round. (I reciently saw two Bradley hulls -on a flatbed, on the PA Turnpike. All shiny allumininuim......that silver stuff)

Also fyi, most aircraft (airframes) are made of aluminum which is why so little is left when they crash and burn. I have several pictures of mid-east battle fields 50's through 80's, there is plenty to burn as is, without all the fancy new materials.

Just had the grossest conversation about this with my husband---volunteer fire fighter for the last 15 years and former Navy.

Husband said that the vulcanized rubber tires and components on the planes, vehicles, and weapons are highly combustible and will burn for years with no problem at all and could very easily be used for fuel also and if you burn it hot, it can be clean. He said that C-4 can be used as a fuel easily as could their ammo. He said that combustibility of materials is actually a huge problem for all militaries and that our government has been working for some time to decrease the combustibility of materials for our own military equipment. He said there will be no problem with burning their equipment for fuel. All of it.

He also made a comment about the bodies that will be marked but not be touched. He said that when a body burns in a fire, it turns into a marshmallow. They may leave them for that reason---allowing them to decompose---but did mention that it sounded like they might be contaminated with something.

It's all the Lord's handiwork since it's prophetic, no matter how He wants to work it out.

Todays weapons contain fuel / diesel also. Instead of God showing Ezekial the actual items (of which he would have no clue as to what they are), he showed him items of his time in lieu of today's machinery that will be used in End Time events. If God HAD showed him tanks, planes, and high tech stuff; the message of the vision would have been lost out of Ezekial's own uncomprehension. So God used 'proxy' equipment of Ezekails day to have the message of the prophecy proclaimed correctly.

We don't know for sure what God showed Ezekiel.... I for one would think he saw the exact events. Ezekiel states that the invading forces arrows fall on the mountains. Do you know what Israel's missile defense system is called? It is called the Arrow.

It is apparent from Ezekiel 39 that this force will be nuclear equipped due to the clean-up process described. It is military protocol to mark a body found when cleaning up a nuclear accident, and have a special hazmat team come in to bury the remains that were exposed to nuclear radiation:

Ezekiel 39:15 As they go through the land and one of them sees a human bone, he will set up a marker beside it until the gravediggers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon Gog.

If this force is nuclear equipped, and has nuclear weapons left over, then, that fuel would easily burn for 7 years.

Seeing horses is no surprise. Russia is known for employing horses in battle. German tank divisions were decimated in WWII by Russian units riding horses due to horses high mobility in frost, and marshy ground. Also, Russia has the renowned cavalry known as the Cossacks. They are horse-backed warriors that were fiercely loyal to the Czar, and were oppressed by the Bolsheviks, and communists. BUT, Putin has recently reinstated them as a major unit of the Russian army.

Read these stories, and look at this quote:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6937562.stm

As I prepared to leave, Ataman Viktor told me he would like to see the Tsar return to Russia.

When I asked him if he could suggest any candidates, he told me there was "only one". President Vladimir Putin, he said, had proved himself as a potential Tsar, by bringing order and the start of Russia's long-awaited national revival.

While Putin is not president any longer, he recently said we will return to that role in 2012 with a change to the constitution....

Putin reinstates the Cossacks as Russian military:

You have to remember that Ezekiel had no Hebrew word for rifle, tank, etc, so he had to use the Hebrew words of his day to describe a fully equipped army. So, when he saw a man carrying a rifle he stated he carried a hereb or sword.

It is quite possible that this will be literal, that these will be the only weapons available due to some future event. Only time will tell.

Just a trivia as I don't know if they they still do this, but every russian tank came equipped with a log to assist in unbogging in mud or sand. That's a bit more lumber to add to the fire......

When the rifle runs out of ammo, there is the bayonet.... some are very sword like, modern ones are more like Leathermans......

Ezekiel didn't see anything like phasers did he......

As for horses, check to see if tanks are carrying more cannister rounds .... a 120mm shotgun WILL ruin their day.

It is interesting to note that new Russian weapons are being produced using a new material known as lignostone. Prepared from compressed wood-product, this material was developed in Holland to be used as fuel. However, the Soviet weapons laboratories discovered that this unique substance, called lignostone, is as strong as steel, light, pliable, and almost invisible to radar. These unique characteristics encouraged the Russian military to utilize this material in many military vehicles and weapons. One of the characteristics of lignostone is that it burns at very high temperatures and can be readily used as an alternative fuel. The use of lignostone, and the fact that mobile Russian military units can carry large amounts of fuel (in containers 100 yards across) for their tanks and helicopters, may explain the prophecy that the defeat of this army will provide ample fuel for Israel for a period of seven years. The prophecy recorded in Ezekiel 38:21 and 39:21Â*22 indicates that God's purpose in this extraordinary intervention in history is to glorify and sanctify His Holy Name in the sight of Israel and the Gentile nations. The awesome destruction associated with this victory over the Russian led armies will not be confined solely to the invading armies. God declared, "And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the Lord" (Ezekiel 39:6). Russia (Magog) will be devastated by the wrath of God, as well as those nations "dwelling carelessly in the isles" which may refer to Europe and America. Russia has pre-positioned enormous military supplies in Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Libya, and Egypt in preparation for the coming Russian-Arab invasion of Israel. It is both easier and more efficient for Russia to airlift huge numbers of lightly armed men into Syria, Egypt, and Lebanon to pick up previously positioned weapons, than to airlift the military supplies for them. Military equipment often weighs five to ten times the weight of the soldier who will use that equipment. The same logic motivates the United States military to preposition enormous amounts of military supplies in Europe to be available for American and Canadian troops who would be flown into France and Germany in the event of a Russian invasion of Western Europe. The PLO, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, and Syria are themselves already so heavily armed that they have little practical use for this additional equipment.

Prophecy author, Grant Jeffrey gives some possible insight into the timing of the Magog invasion. He writes: Although Scripture does not indicate the year in which this future invasion and defeat of Russia will occur, the prophet Haggai gives us a strong indication of what the actual day may be. Haggai reveals that on the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month (Chisleu) of the Jewish calendar, the day before Hanukkah, God will deliver Israel as He did twice before on this day: (1) the defeat of the Syrian army and recapture of the Temple in 165 b.c. and (2) the British capture of Jerusalem from the Turks in 1917 during the closing battles of WW1. The prophet Haggai declares: "The Word of the Lord came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month [Chisleu], saying, Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth; and I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the heathen; and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them; and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother" (Haggai 2:20Â*22).

Is the Psalm 83 War happening right now? I have heard that Psalm 83 will happen before the Magog Invasion because Psalm 83 is where Israel expands her borders and aquires wealth, wealth that Gog/Magog wants and to destroy her. Chuck Smith said in HisChannelLive this week that we won't here for the end of the Magog War because the Bible says God will poor out His Spirit on Israel and His Spirit is currently retraining evil through the Church. I pray the Rapture is sooner than we think. Maranatha!

I don't think Psalm 83 is happening yet but we could be on the brink. These are crazy yet exciting times to be living in when you know the Word of God and what is to happen.

Psalm 83 isn't happening right now, but I believe we're watching the setup for it.
