View Full Version : Is the Psalm 83 War Next on the Prophetic Timeline?

I don't know if Ps 83 is an actual battle/war or not; but if it isn't it is the prayer (I believe answered prayer) of disruption/intervention in the attempts of the named nations/regions to attack and annihilate Israel. I do not believe these are the same nations mentioned in the Gog/Magog of Ez 38-39 or the same war.
Though I tend to think the tribulation will begin with the signing of a treaty that comes about as a result of Gog/Magog, I do not know (and IMO neither does anyone else) if the church will be here at that time. I tend to think 'not'; but I don't see it as something to be concerned about. Our LORD has it all under control, and I'm ready whether it's today, tomorrow or in the middle of Gog/Magog. Don't worry about it, just trust in the Lord Jesus.

I'm glad I could help. Don't get that frustrated, just remember that, for the most part, we are guessing as to how things will play out. Most guesses are very educated, but still only our sovereign God knows how things will occur. At the same time we are called to watch, and know the season in which we live.
We will not be here to see the antichrist, so don't hang your head, lift up your face because our Lord cometh!
Maranatha!
Twinkle...please don't do that! Be encouraged! The finish line is within sight! :hug
thanks guys :hug I'm feeling encouraged again

As Terry said in the introduction of the OP piece, there are two views placed side by side for people to decide for themselves which makes the most sense to them.
Here's the other article to compare/contrast with the first, by Bill Salus: http://www.raptureready.com/soap/psalm83-2.html

:yeah I'm glad. :hug
Remember, the crown of righteousness will be given to those who long for Jesus's appearing, period, not for those who have every prophetic detail figured out (which is none of us. :hehee )

Hey twinkle I agree with the other posters here, in that we cannot know how it is all going to pan out, nor do we have to, but we can certainly watch and know the season like Gideon said. Many of us here are watching and waiting and even yearning for the Lord's coming for us, so we can all be encouraged that we are amongst brethren of the same flock eagerly awaiting the appearing of the Lord. I been watching for a little over 20 years but only this year have I felt excited again since my conversion in Jan 1991.

:hug :hug thank you so very much for answering my post. Your explanations really helped.
I have loved Bible prophecy but it is far from being my strong suit. I really try to 'get it' and understand it for myself but I'm not wired to overcome all the angles and hurdles, I need help.
That article had me in tears, I was so frustrated and confused. I nearly walked away from having anymore to do with Bible prophecy.
awwww.......I don't get most stuff in life.....when I am reading, I have a hard time concentrating and my mind wanders, so it takes either someone explaing it to me or me reading it a bunch of times to get anything....I'm always in my own little world....lol...

Join the crowd cbressler1976...:lol2...although I was never diagnosed with ADHD...(at my age they just used to paddle us in school instead of giving us drugs) there is no doubt as I have and still do have all the symptoms. I usually have to read somthing slowly and twice to understand. I often get to the bottom of a page and have no idea what I just read as I too am easily distracted. I think I scored something like a 14 or 15 on my ACT yet God has given me other talents and abilities. Somehow someway I did manage to graduate from college and have had a very successful business career. I work hard and I have good people skills and I am an above average sales person.
I am sure God has given you other types of abilities just like he did for me. While I also rely somewhat on other people to do the the deep study and analysis of prophecy I still read alot and pray for discernment. The bottom line is God is sovereign, God is good, Jesus is coming again and I trust Him. :hug
