The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) in my area is including home-school students in this years essay contest.
Grades 5-8 Topic will be
"What message did the Gettysburg Address communicate to our war-torn nation in 1863? How are the ideals articulated in the speech still relevant for our country today?"
Grades 9-12 Topic will be
"Discuss five perils faced by Christopher Columbus' expedition(s) and how Columbus and his crew overcame them."
Contact your local DAR chapter for details and if they are including home-school students? I'm new doing this so I don't know if this is just my chapter or if all of them all including home-school.
Also can anyone give me information on a centralized location to contact Home-School organizations?
