I decided to start this post because a few things have happened in the past 2 months that were beautiful yet unbelievable.

about two weeks ago I was sitting outside almost in a meditative state. I looked up and noticed a couple dragonflies. Soon about 200 filled the area in front of me. They didn't go in anyone else's backyard except mine. It was amazing...they didn't even touch me, just glided in great patterns for about 3 minutes and left. In my family we always believed they were a sign of luck.

Now yesterday....I saw the largest, brightest complete rainbow ever in my life (and I used to live in FL). I honestly thought the whole US would see it. I live on a lake and the left side of the bow started right on the lake. Of course the first thing I thought of was "as in the days of Noah" lol.
That wasn't the end of it...5 minutes later a SECOND rainbow started forming above it!
My camera was out of film, but I caught what I could on my cell phone cam. I'll try to upload them later for you all.

Natural phenomena's happen all the time but not many people share them because they are'nt HUGE or "news worthy". I'd like to know of yours, even if it's something simple or silly :popcornbag
With Love-
:thankyou2

For some reason, where I live, it is more common to see a double rainbow than a single one. I don't know why. I grew up about 30 miles away from here and only saw the single rainbows as a child.

I live on a ridge up above a valley and when the weather is cold many times that valley fills up with fog and my house is above the fog line so it's like looking into a gigantic bowl of oatmeal or something. I hate it when I have to go to work and drive down into that crud. :ohno

Saw some northern lights here a couple years ago, that's pretty rare. I have seen them in Alaska also and they are SO beautiful!

God has revealed Himself in so many beautiful ways since His Creation began!

He has the ability to show us His splendor at anytime. The closer you look; the clearer and numerous His phenomena becomes! Sometimes, I believe those incidents are personal gifts from God, meant only for you to see. :thumb
Like Moses and the burning bush, Paul on His way to Damascus...etc.

I need to get a digital camera, and learn how to post photos. Out in the midst of the woods, God's nature really comes alive sometimes!

The Northern lights, the planets, stars, satellites and space station all can be brilliant up here. Meteor showers are really spectacular some years. The expanding gardens filled with flowers, birds, and other wildlife. Everything seems so thought out by Him, so carefully planned....Thousands of things to see, behold and Praise God for.

Yeah you're right Citysearcher, I agree that somethings are meant for only that persons eyes. It's a reminder to hold your faith, barely a fraction of what beauty our home will be. In a world that is so ugly and dying we need that "pick-me-up" :rapture

ThirdDay: What state or country do you live in? It's rare to see a rainbow here let alone a double rainbow!
Ether way, I'm blessed that he allowed me to see a teeeeny bit more of his awesome beauty! :cloud9

The site should have a automated photo gallery to post things like this along with new births, marraiges, trips, missions, etc...
I have one on my "Web Comics" site. Only members can post or view and you can have regular moderators etc etc according to settings, lol hmm think I'll bring that up on the suggestion thread! hehe

Well, this one may sound silly compared to the rest...I've been kind of sick after my kidney surgeries and I finally was able to go outside. I sat on a rock in the corner of my yard and was looking at a little pot of lilies that we have yet to plant. The flowers are a deep yellow. I started looking closer and what beauty I saw! The petals looked sparkly like a fine glitter was poored onto them...gold dust. I pulled a petal off to bring it close to my eyes because it still hurts to lean over. I must have gotten lost in time staring at the yellow glitter and such a sense of wonder overtook me and reminded me (ever so vaguely) of times as a child...you know, when the world was all new to you and everything was a discovery. I thought about what Heaven must be like. It must be something else! What beauty He has created here will probably be little in comparrison to what we'll see with Him someday.

I'm sure if I thought for a while, I could think of some better things to share that I've seen, but this little flower restored something in me.

this is a really fun thread! thanks, DLee

My husband and I were in the pool one afternoon last week, and had three beautiful dragonflies visit us for about two hours. They got on our floats with us and didn't seem to be afraid of us! I told him at the time that it was almost as they were little gifts from God for us to enjoy that day.

A few years ago I lived in Jacksonville, Alabama, a tiny little college town nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mtns. One late summer afternoon as I was riding my bike through town, slowly, as the sun went down the sky turned the deepest, most incredible, intense scarlet red color. THE ENTIRE SKY. As I rode around town, people were coming out of their homes and business to just stare at the sky. It lasted about a half hour until the sky got dark. I've never seen anything like it before or since.

Now that I live in south Texas, I'm beginning to enjoy the wide panoramic sunsets that the plains have to offer.
