According to a recent report on the internet which was shown on Jack Van Impe Presents, 57% of evangelicals believe there are other ways to heaven besides Jesus Christ. This could mean that many of these evangelicals are not saved and on their way to heaven. John 14:6 says, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by Me." Jesus Christ is the only Way to heaven, and He also is the only way to abundant life in the here and now!

Very sad...

Not surprising, though. One of the most common things I get wind of these days is of evangelicals who once held tight to the truth of Jesus, now going apostate. Even so, this too is per what has been foretold of the end times.

"Many are called, but few are chosen..."

In a Newsweek poll a couple of years ago about the American public's belief in God, a whopping 90% said they DO believe in God. Not even 5% said they're athiests.

Pt being that it appears whether they believe in God or not, they nonetheless miss the point completely about sin, Jesus, the Cross, and salvation.

I think polls like this show that many people don't get sound doctrine preached to them, and many can't tell the difference between UU style universalism ("all religions are equal paths") and hopeful Christian universalism built upon Jesus' blood atonement being once for all. I'm a hopeful Christian universalist who believes we should still bring people to Christ now rather than relying upon Christ reaching them later. After all, I'm a Christian universalist, but God may not be.

Even if Jesus preached to those in sheol/hades and brings them out, no one would want to experience one minute of such separation from God and such suffering. Just as no one in their right mind would want to experience the Time of Jacob's Troubles (the Tribulation).

Are you suggesting that people can be saved AFTER they have died?

:fear:fear Am I misunderstanding your post?

You are only saved by repentence and receiving Jesus as your savior. His blood covers those who put their faith in Him ONLY. It does not cover ALL sinners regardless of their belief. That is a great heresy that seems to be on the rise in these last days. :pray

When I heard Billy Graham say this in a '96 YouTube video recently, I heart really sunk.

There is a literal physical hell and most people are going there.
It's best to get the gospel message out to others so they can make a decision to repent before they die because there is no second chance after death.

The most alarming aspect of Islam is that they believe the amount of time you spend in Hell depends on the amount you sin(i.e. you sin little, your time is short. You sin alot, vice versa). But ultimately, everyone will trickle their way into heaven.

*shrugs* No wonder why Muslims think they can do all the wrongs and evils.
